Should do it in under 4 hours in a 7.5 tonner. Norwich to Corley services took me 2hrs 50mins in an artic. This was a couple of weeks back at midday, so traffic was not too bad.
CM:
You could try Coventry M6 - A14 thrapston - A605 Peterborough - A47 Kings Lynn via Wisbech - A47 KL - Swaffam - Norwich - Gt Yarmouth. They are all reasonable roads now.quote]
well done cm thats the way i would go.
It depend on the time of day you are thinking of getting to the Huntingdon to Cambridge part of the A14. I used to start out of Yarmouth at between 2 and 3am and could get to the M54 in 4 hours, using the A14, this is in an artic and I’m known as a steady pedaler.
But if you are going to get to Huntington anytime between 7:30 and 9:30 then think about going A605, but remember it’s mostly single carriageway and this means in a 7.5 tonner you will be stuck behind the trucks travelling at 40mph with nowhere to pass. Either way 4-4.5 hours will give you time to have a cuppa on the way

Ok, so what am I missing here?? Autoroute reckons M6, A14, A11 and that takes 3h 30m at HGV speeds??
So you didn’t stick to the speed limits then?!
I don’t want to sound good-2-shoes but I do have points already for speeding and I do actually value my licence and therefore my job to be speeding…

You did say a 7.5 Tonner, In a 7.5 tonner you should average 40 - 45mph overall and make it under 4hrs even allowing for the speed limits.

Probably need to be there for 10am and will no doubt be there until about 8pm. I’ve worked for Dales in the past , and one of the benefits of going via Peterborough is that i can refuel there with the driver from our Peterborough depot (and fresh coffee on tap ) Once again to give camera access for the filming.
Although it does almost look a more direct route, but the A14 and then the A11… The 14 is a dual carriageway, but I’m not sure about the A11. I think I’ve been on it before Oh, no, sorry, that was the A12. Well, close enough I think I’ve done Coventry to Saxmundham in about 4.5 hours…

The A11 Mildenhall - Thetford is single carraigeway.

If it’s anything like the version in our office - which we’re paid by - then it’ll think it’s a good 10 miles shorter than it is on the card!
Yes… Alas if I had everything running properly here then I could pull up the GPS tracklog the last time I was in the area.
Either way, it’s an early start and a late finish, with a 6 hour sleep in the middle well, you wanna suggest something else while they’re filming and i’ve got to stay with the vehicle?! They operate and everything… And trust me, he can soon wake me up if he tosses something onto the roof which is the norm

I did not stick to HGV speed limits, but as you are in a 7.5 tonner, you will have no problems. On the dual carriageways I never went over 60. And I certainly was nowhere near 70 on the motorway.
