Hi all my brother has a questionnaire from the job centre to gain an lgv license and is unsure on some of the answers just wander if you can help. I know it may be cheating
What is the maximum daily driving time?
How many hours can you drive in any 2 week period?
How many hours can you legally drive before you must take a break?
How long must that break in Q3 be?
I think I know the answers to a couple but want to be sure as I’m not a driver just a wannabe one thanx.

hi there if you need to learn the drives hour then there is a guide here to help him
No he’s not a driver yet and I can’t see why asking professional drivers answers to a couple of Qs will result in a dangerous driver surely you all had to ask/research these sort of Qs while you were learning. I would like to thank the couple of peeps that posted the links that was the sort of help/info he was after. As stated I and he sort of knew the answers just wanted to be a 100% sure so as he can get the job centre of his back as soon as. Thanx

What is the maximum daily driving time? 9 hours but can be extend to 10 hours twice a fixed week
How many hours can you drive in any 2 week period? 90 hours
How many hours can you legally drive before you must take a break? 4 hours 30 minutes
Is it just me or is it a bit annoying unemployed can get lgv licence through the job centre, this is not a dig at the op or his brother I refer to the bigger picture! Example… A working person wants to try improve his/her employment/pay and thinks lgv driver may be for them but due to cost is made difficult so stuck in low/poor pay and tax, meanwhile… Non working person of say 2 1/2 years gets lgv licence goes on to make better money than the lower payed tax payer trying to better themself, ironicly if the low payed worker went on to a better job an unimployed person is likely to turn down his old job
What an insult IMO
I don’t agree wae putting people through their goods tests on the public ■■■■■ away go get a warehouse job and scrimp and save for it like the rest of us had to do

It’s like me, I know that at some point this summer I’m going to be made redundant, so I have borrowed the money from family to get my licence before I get made redundant. If I had waited till I got made redundant the DWP may have paid for it, but why should they and who would touch me at least this way I have got 12 months experience doing multi drop time sensitive work in the bag.

Gets right on my ■■■■!
The grant is from a fund set up by the E.U ( not the British tax payer ) setup specifically for training the unemployed, not just LGV drivers, food hygiene courses for chefs, care worker certificates for young girls with no qualifications , plumbing, electrical, bricklaying courses and when i did my SHEA gas course paid for by my current employer, the chav sat next to me was sent from the Job Centre, he was told in no uncertain terms that if he did not attend they were stopping his benefits.
The Job Centre paid for my ADR as i specifically asked for it when they asked me, if they could help with any job related courses as i was made redundant for the second time in 2 years Nov 2011, i had a meeting with the funding team to prove i was from a driving back ground and basically not waste their funding on being a feckless no-hoper. Although granted they wasted around £50 on the chav sat next to me, but the J.C advisors now have targets to meet also regarding unemployed course placements, its getting to be a crazy world indeed.
