Help needed wheres hovis in newcastle

Hi does anyone know where the hibiscus depot in Newcastle is.ill be going from eurocentral on Tuesday for a trunk possibly

Is this it? WHEATFIELD ROAD
NE5 5LB

Well if it is its at Westerhope, Just off the A 1 , Regards Larry.

Hovis Newcastle is within the K&n yard on Sedling road,Birtley. They will give you a piece of paper showing you where it is before you leave. Follow all the directions(over the 69 to A1,head south till becomes M1,take Birtley services exit-dont go into services but take the junction onto A195,take 2nd exit,at roundabout take 3rd exit-K&N will be on left-Makro on right)
Hovis is at the back corner of the yard and the bays are reasonably tight, and limber up first because helping to unload that decker full of bread is a ■■■■■■■ of a job!!

Birtley is Co Durham, Newcastle is not,so can you explain why the guy is refering his delivery as Newcastle ■■?, Regards Larry.

Hovis used to have its own site in Newcastle-they sold it-now they rent space in K&N’s place, but the run is still colloqually known as “Newcastle”

If you are leaving from the Hovis depot in Newhouse the guys there normally supply a Sat Nav if you ask, or give detailed directions, I think from the stories I have heard it is easy peasy.

Thanks guys

If you follow the A1 south until it becomes M1, chances are you’ve missed the Birtley turn

This is the best view of Hovis in Newcastle upon Tyne, sadly no longer a flour mill but a yuppie paradise and arts venue.

The Baltic Mill is a great building, but I suppose by using it they haven’t knocked it down yet.

I used to work at Hovis. (Formerly British Bakeries and Mothers Pride.)

Since when did they move to Washington?

I worked out of Mossend on agency from 12/10 till 7/11 and that was where the "newcastle"depot was. Don’t know when they moved. It was a good run-but the helping to unload a decker full of bread was good exercise.

Hi I did the run tonight, got my days mixed up. Very easy to get to but what a nightmare of a reverse. I was shunting like a mad man.there’s very little room and the emptying of the bread will either make you fit or kill you lol

I done this run out of eurocentral an my satnav took me to within 10feet of the front gate. But what the TM at Eurocentral forgot to tell me was its not a Hovis depot i was looking for but a K&N depot with a wee bit hidden round the back of the yard and all plain white trucks so i must have reversed about 4 times on that estate before my agency phoned me to say i was outside the gate and i should drive into K&N and find the loading bays in the far corner!! Plus it was a wee bit tight to get it onto the only bay that was operational! I ended up with a 2 minute over infringment thanks to that shift! Grrr

I used to work in that building when it was rank hovis macdougal back in 1972, I was 17 at the time. Used to fill big sacks with animal foods & send them down a chute, then go and stack them. We would spend time sliding down the chute or going up & down the open elevator. Got sacked for it eventually, ho hum.
Most places in or around here are classed as Newcastle as its the biggest city up here, and lets face it, if someone said take it to scumberland nobody would take the job would they.

Just saw this postbagain.it was a good wee shift that day but only did it once as it was just to cover another driver
