If you tell DVLA that they are ZBs and should upgrade your license correctly then yes you will be able to drive manual geared coach.
I sometimes wonder what DVLA do all day?
I have just had similar issue with upgrading my bus license to bus with large trailer because i had Class 1. It’s taken them 5 weeks to put right.
thank you for your help i will contact them in the morning
No problem.
Don’t expect it back very quickly though as it has to be manually adjusted and then signed off by a manager.
You looking at going onto the coaches?
i just phoned a company but there buses are all manual he told me my class 2 should allow me to drive manual buses im looking for part time work ,my company i just left on saturday only did full time great company but to many hours…

As others have said, a manual C pass removes the 78 (automatic only) restriction code from all non-trailer entitlements in the EUÂ categories, including category D. A manual CE pass removes the 78 (automatic only) restriction from all other EUÂ category entitlements.
Another favourite DVLA error is leaving DE off the licences of those who have passed both category D and CE tests.
If you pass automatic B, automatic D, automatic C and manual CE tests, the result should be B, BE, C, CE, D, DE, all without the 78 restriction code.
It is appalling that DVLA’s system doesn’t handle these upgrades automatically - there is no ambiguity in the law (I can quote ‘chapter and verse’ if necessary). For these upgrades, it doesn’t matter what order you take the tests in - a manual C licence holder can subsequently pass category D on an automatic bus and should receive manual D entitlement. A manual CEÂ licence holder passing a category D test on an automatic bus should receive manual DÂ and manual DE.
You will need your licence correctly reissued before you can drive a manual PCV, lowfell. Even if you don’t take this particular job, I’d get it sorted out now so that it won’t be an issue in the future. Your licence should correctly reflect what you are entitled to drive. It would be a shame to have to turn work away just because your licence is incorrect.
