Hellenic Specialists

Hi all
Here is a pic of two brit greece specialists who mostly turned right at Nis, and one Swede …who can recognise them ?

GS

Dunno who the foreign geezer is but Lindsey “Spock” Speak & Alex “The Sloth” Ross are the other 2, Alex still has those shorts by the way!!! Nice picture of em both Lindsey has a tad less up top now but apart from that both him and Alex look no different now it must have been the Ouzo thats kept em both embalmed.

Hi Flysheet
I had a feeling that you would know Lindsey and Alex. I took that photo one night at Evzoni, and that was vodka in the cups !! That’s ABSOLUTLy why the Swede from Umika’s looks the way he does …!
Lindsey didn’t have much on top then !! I can imagine what he’s got up top now.
Please send them my best regards

Hi Gavin GS, I vaguely recognized Lindsay and definately recognized Alex but no-way could I come up with his name. But stupidly I can remember him having 2 holes in the bulkhead where his Volvo heater motors should be (and in the middle of winter) I wonder if he has fitted the new ones yet?
Gavin

Hi Gavin Mc
I remember that Volvo, ex OHS, I enjoyed running with Alex on several occasions, as far as Nis, where we would always part company, him to Greece and me towards Bulgy and beyond. Do you think he still has the old girl ?
And Lindsey had the Iveco with the big Lancashire Rose on the roof spoiler, I seem to remember that his truck and Maurice’s truck were sister vehicles !
What are you upto these days Gavin ■■

Hi Gavin GS, I sold up at the back end of 87, I had been on containers out of Southampton for the previous 8/9 years, but like international work we weren’t as busy as we had been. I should have replaced my truck but didn’t fancy another dose of HP (some of us could see a recession coming) got a good price for my old Foden before the bottom dropped out of the market and have been doing odd jobs and a bit of agency since. Thats how I get to be on here during the day! I get my pension at the end of this year then I’m off in the caravan to annoy the present day steering wheel attendants!
How did you get from being and O/D to your present occupation? I looked up your web site. :grimacing: :grimacing:

I spoke with Alex today GS and told him about your post he sends an “alrite” to you, he’s gonna try and take a look on here when he can. He’s still got a Volvo but an FH type which I think sups a tad less squirt than that old orange A-ride!!! Alex’s FH is a mid lift now and he pulls either a flat or a bulker with it, I’ve got an A-ride FH believe it or not, an ex Norwiegen contraption its great with the axle up but no good for ya fillings when its down, its a bit juicy too but not nearly as bad as my F12 A-ride with its 305 load lugger in!!! As for the orange 1 I remember it being up at Evzoni with big engine problems, I’m fairly sure he towed it home and flogged it. Pity he did’nt have it still I could get some spares off it mines a 99 model & the rear ends identical to a 79 model!!

I’ll probably speak to Lindsey in the week so I’ll mention this thread to him, I know he’s got a lap top. He still has the big red rose thing but its on a low ride Scania now, He’s usually moving big static vans & park homes around in it,
