Spotted this in Baslow Derbyshire this morning, two of them. Poor picture, had to grab 'phone quickly.
I know it’s not wide or heavy but its the best i can do, the trailer is 30ft because the owner of the barge didn’t thi.nk we could get a 40ft in there lol
just a little long I think
I have been looking for 20 years for some of the thousands of photos that were taken of us and they must be in some private collection or lost.
Has anyone else got them, it was a long job, think there were 4 lorries and we did 7 pods each double manned from Grenoble to Dartford with private and police escorts.
HI People
anybody got any pics of trucks carrying weird and wonderful wide loads or even the just the truck and fancy trailer used to carry heavy/wide loads.
cheers
Hi boys
Cruise Control, here’s a few I have posted sometime ago on another tread. The first two was about 1986/7 moving some 68ft beams to Slough for a new ice ring,Two were joined together to make like a big nisen hut. The trailer we made out of two old 40fters took the running gear off one, cut the other in two halfs, spead it slid the first trailer underneath and welded it all together. VOSA eat your heart out
The next two was moving the oldest working steam loco( Lion ) for its 150 year anniversary from site to site.IIRC around late 80s This one was taken at Dinting north of Manchester. There was no line that we could load on so the powers that be lifted it on with there steam crain. When we first had this trailer it had a manual knock out neck that we removed and we made a hydrolic one (a lot easier and quicker to use)
And finally what I drive today, moving plant all over the country, this being a Volvo EC240, 26ton on route to Immingham docks for shipping over to Sweden.Photo taken in Telford last year with a Nooteboon tri axle 48ton trailer,65ton special types plate on unit, gives me a payload of about 38ton
