Edward Beck & Son Ltd Scammell Highwayman Reg No WJA 131 is seen here hauling a brand new Caterpillar bulldozer.
Unfortunately it has broken down at a T junction at the top of a steep hill somewhere in Lancashire resulting in a bit of drama for the local residents.
If you recognise the location please let me know.
The Ford Anglia police car is Lancashire registered so that narrows it down quite considerably.

Now that’s the way to do it 75ft load on a 20ft trailer.
This Bedford tractor unit and single axle trailer were operated by D. E. Hines (Transport) Ltd of Streetley Birmingham.
In 1969 after a six-week old strike between D. E. Hines and the TGWU over the dismissal of a driver the company, which had been in business for almost 30 years, closed down.
Maybe its just me but that looks like an accident waiting to happen !
Imagine pulling into a Vosa weigh bridge with this today !

The old AEC looks a bit heavy on the back end.
Found this photo taken somewhere in Stockton on Tees load was from Head Wrightsons yard and would think from reg of Scammell would think it would be one of Sunters vehicles.

It’s an optical illusion Dean,it’s being light on the front end that’s causing that!!!
