"Heavy Haulage through the years"

Who knows more about this trailer? Looks like the axles are removable or shiftable…?

Now then Patrick,
You should pay more attention as I have already put pictures of this company on TN and another site! and even told you what axles were under these home made trailers, have I got to get the headmaster involved? You have 2 days to get yourself sorted before his internet is back up and running!

Just been on the blower and the Head has put a Mr Sutherland in charge of you whilst his internet is being sorted, meanwhile here are 2 pictures to jog your memory…must be those birds in that office you’re getting mixed up with these Birds!!

You’re not telling me that Patrick is being forgetful!! Tut, tut. At his young tender age. What is he going to be like when he gets older?

I’ve taken my whip out of the attic and dusted it down.

I just read that Rouse Kenworth thing… 5.2 ton… If they were as light as that here they’d be worth a fortune…Mine is almost the same spec and it’s 9.4 ton.

I’d like to know how they tuned the engine to shove out 600 bhp… The other thing that greatly impressed me was that it used to do Atlanta to Fresno and back each week… 4 collections and 4 deliveries along the way then up to Boston and back as well… very impressive…
It used to take me a good weeks run to do Chicago South Cal reload Sacramento and back in the same sort of truck…

Jeff…

We found something to agree on Jeff I have my doubts also re its Tare weight and HP I have seen a few of those engines screwed up a bit 10% they can handle over that they don’t last long.

Cheers Dig

I’ll need to consider alternatives…

Hi Johnny,
I thought you knew Patricks saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me”!

Hi Dean,
I’m glad another person has noticed! I think he is being distracted by a flash new motor and some fresh office skirt!

Pic 9 is a Berliet T 12 prototype, powered by a big 22 litre Rochet-Schneider petrol V12 engine giving 450 bhp.

I’m scared to comment. He knows where I live.

But, there is truth in what you are saying Dean. I don’t thinking the same myself. No doubt he has a ‘good reason’ for it. He always does!

True Dean. I hadn’t thought of that. Maybe he is going through some cold turkey, or something similar. [emoji4]

Nice one Buzzer. Quite a load for, probably, not such a powerful lorry back then.

An old trusty MACK. 300 HP in 1978 was quite something.

How many steered axles when loaded? Another way to ask the question could be “how long do the trailer’s tyres last”?
