On the contrary, if you’ve paid attention you would have noticed that I quite like the Felbermayr look and livery, scroll back through these pages, I’ve posted some footage of their fleet on here before. Who knows, you might get inspired by the look of their fleet…

Aye, Felbermayr are a fine looking outfit indeed. Been around for a wee while as well - since 1942. With depots all over Europe - but not in the UK. Some nice photos on their website as well - Heavy haulage by road | FELBERMAYR

Another Kording Schwertransporte photo from the heavy transport German company based in Hepse towards the North of Germany. They have also been in business a wee while - since 1935.

Mar-Train Heavy Haulage Ltd is a heavy haulage specialist base in Nothern Ireland. It is a family run business, established in 1978 to provide a local plant haulage service. Based outside Lisburn in County Down the company has expanded rapidly since 1993, to meet the requirements of a niche found in the market. Since then, the company has specialised in heavy haulage and the transport of wind farm components throughout Ireland, UK and Europe.

The fleet now consists of over 20 units and over 60 trailers. The young fleet of tractor units are mainly Volvo and quite often bespoke due to the demanding weights these vehicles carry.

Nice kit Dan, some could use that actually, in order to keep the weights on the driving axles legal…

The world has lost a great writer in you I see…

As I haven’t posted any footage of the wagon I’m currently driving, how would you know that the Felbermayr one looks better, I wonder? Or are you simply making accusations based on my view of “customised” trucks?

Either way, I quite enjoyed reading the article about your firm in the latest edition of Heavy Torque, that Bob Beech is some writer eh?!
