The operating company became William E.Masters,they also had a branch in Poole and operated at least three Sentinel steam lorries: this one and two
more DG6 tipper steam lorries,CN.8027,TK 3337 and CN.8433,DG 1873,Gloucester,2-1931.The Gloucester one had four owners from new:Mrs.A.T.Pike,Tetbury,
Gloucstershire; F.W.Wright & Company,Tetbury; returned to Sentinel circa 1933,re-built and sold to James Plant Jnr.,Burbage,Buxton; after a short while it was sold
to William E.Masters who last licensed this Sentinel in 1936.

Well Brians sons are more into Heavy Lift Crane stuff, I dont think they do much haulage work, Perhaps its a trailer that the sold, Thanks for the info, Regards Larry.

Up until when were these steam lorries used? As I think I’ve seen some footage before of some firms that were still using them in the early 50s?

Who knows more about this creation? Apparently it was build by Nicolas and was called Automas, the Swedish equivalent of the EDF bought it, can’t find much more info about it.

I dont know how many were built Patrick or if it was a one off. Nicolas did build it in 1972. :wink:
