That looks like a real bum clenching moment for the driver. Nothing worse than being dragged along in any direction and not knowing if you can stop.

Nice remnder of happy days backloading from Strathclyde and also McKelvie’s. Not as big as that but often long steel and our bosses at Midland Storage liked us doing it, from brother Transport Developement companies.

The yellow 6 wheeler is definitely a Hayes:

The odd-wheeled 4x2 tractor, in black and white, has a Hayes-type front radiator protector, but I can’t find any others the same, so it’s another one to file in the mystery drawer.
