Patrick,

Tidy outfit DIG, what’s that vehicle on the second trailer?

Crooksy tells me its a “Mud Puppy” so your guess is as good as mine.

Dig

Heat transfer reactors on the move - quite a sight.

I reckon there would be some heat transfer under the bonnet of that KW Johnny pulling that lump around, great pic .

Cheers Dig

Nice one Johnny  Any idea what lump was fitted under the bonnet? My guess would be a CAT, but I might be wrong… as usual

I was recently in Uganda and met this wide load coming through. Fortunately my passenger was quick of the mark and took these pictures.

The Iveco Astra was certainly working in challenging conditions, especially some of the roads it was travelling on.

I’ve also been adding a few pictures on the Saviem’s fan club thread of my visit - Saviem's fan club - OLD TIME LORRIES, COMPANIES AND DRIVERS (INTERACT - Trucknet UK.

I’m finally viewing it on a bigger screen mate, quite a impressive unit I must say. I’ve noticed that it’s working under the Bollore logistics banner, is there some sort of French connection to it?

I don’t know which type it is, but I reckon they weigh somewhere between 15 and 20t each… is does fit on the trailer, but it’s a divisible load nonetheless…?

That has been explained before, probably by NMM, but I have forgotten, so I too would like to know again.

They don’t seem to be bearing weight, but obviously they are.

From a distance I thought I was seeing a Foden, then seeing the three pointed star, could it be a Ugandan Mercedes. But no, it is a CNHTC Howo, In Uganda, I saw quite a few of the Chinese made tractor units - also quite a few 8x4s.

China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd., CNHTC or Sinotruk Group is a Chinese state-owned truck manufacturer headquartered in Jinan, Shandong province. It is currently the third largest truck manufacturer in Mainland China.

He put something on about bogies which hinge up, for unladen running. Maybe these are those. I can’t remember. We need someone with a full set of brain cells on here.
