Now that Scammell looks like it has the Leyland Redline cab, similar to the one that the Contractor had with a sleeper tacked on when I overnighted at Econofreight’s in Thornaby. :open_mouth:

It is destination I have on my ‘to visit list’ in retirement, if I ever get there and am still healthy.

It surely is Pandora’s box mate, I’ve been bumping into things I haven’t seen for ages…

That South African ERF surely is a stunner, even looks a bit like a Crusader…

Maybe Robert knows a bit more about it, he’s the ERF boffin on here

Well, I know little about South African ERFs but I can on this occasion oblige! The unit shown was a model 66cu475 Goldstar series with a ■■■■■■■ twin-turbo 475 bhp lump and a 20-speed Spicer 'box, Kirkstall D100 tandem drive axles, and locally-built Santini twin bunk sleeper cab. Robert

I just knew you would come up with sommat Robert, cheers

The shoe box “saga” continues…

All those Italian right hookers Patrick, makes me fair nostalgic. I suppose they don’t make them anymore with no mountain passes to teeter on?

Or do they?

David we are told by Robert our ERF guru it has a twin turbo 475hp ■■■■■■■ in residence that would make it a very capable heavy haulage unit.

Good to see your still crushing a buck Danne and there is no doubt your centre of gravity is about as low as it can get.
