The trailers are Portuguese - are the tractors there as well?
Who knows another “toy” that SWMBI won’t know about!

Seen here in October 1957 this Pickfords publicity shot shows a transformer been collected from manufacturer Bruce Peebles & Co Ltd of East Pilton Edinburgh.
This was the time when hydro-electric power stations were being built, the national grid (which connected different areas with high voltage cables, mainly on pylons) was being greatly expanded, railway electrification was continuing and electricity use was still increasing.
Thirty years on and in 1987, looking worlds apart from the Scammell in the top picture, is Pickfords Volvo F12 6X4 ballast tractor Reg No C958 ARJ which was registered new in September 1985.

Wynn’s Pacific 6x6 heavy duty prime mover Reg No GDW 277 ‘Dreadnought’ leads the way in this transformer movement over the Pennines.
This electrical transformer would have been collected from the Ferranti factory at Hollinwood near Oldham and is pictured here on the A62 in Huddersfield at the junction of Manchester Road and Queensgate.
