Heavy haulage axle config

I was around south mimms the other day and saw a heavy duty haulage tractor like none over I have seen before, normal actros, not a faun or scammer or anything but it had a lot of axles. It was going quick so I couldn’t count, but I am used to seeing 8x4 and such haulage tractors,

So what configuration could it have been and just how big have they gone before now?

Are you sure you just never seen an 8x4 tractor pulling a dolly trailer then with the big real trailer on that?

Like so:

I know the one your talking about, It’s used mainly as a push-pull unit for seriously heavy loads.

It definitely did not have a dolly like above the 5th wheel was much further back also.
Can’t believe the spelling mistakes in my OP must have been tired

AMC’s 5 axle Volvo

or if it definitely WAS an Actros, GCS Johnson have several - this is the biggest - an 8x6.

Tim

yeah thats about right, looked very similar

Some of the dollies that you see behind an 8x4 HH tractor can be deceptive, they appear to be part of the unit rather than a separate thing.

I’m sure I saw another 5 axle tractor the other day, can’t remember where or what though :unamused:
