A47 at swaffham, by a long way the best place I have stopped at to date. £20 parking, includes shower and meal - just had a humungous rump steak with all the trimmings included, showers and facilities excellent, restaurant you could take the other half to for your anniversary.
If you’re in the area, give them a look, they’ve been going about a year and thoroughly deserve the custom.
Only downside is 3G signal not very good, but they do have wifi!
The Heathside; that brings back some memories. In the late sixties/early seventies I can remember a couple of girls working behind the counter and to promote extra trade they wore bikinis, only on hot days though.
They also had fuel pumps at the front and there was a cable that you had to run over to ring a bell inside the cafe to get a member of staff to come and fill you up. ( Only drivers of a certain age will remember the days before self service ). There was a Myna bird in a cage in the cafe and when the bell rang he would squark DIESEL.
The site was taken over by Little Chef who ran it for many years, they didn’t want lorries of course. I wish the new owners well !
