Heartbreaking picture

This poor little soul (and his dead brother) were fleeing ISIS in Kobane,I guess their parents thought it’s better to try and reach somewhere safe, took that chance and unfortunately this is what happened, heartbreaking stuff ! Call me a lily livered Liberal, been called a lot,lot worse…
Turkey is a supposedly safe country, but not for the Kurds,Erdogan and his killers hate the Kurds as much as ISIS do,not an easy life at all for the Kurds, fighting and standing up to ISIS (nobody else is) and the Turks at the same time…
There but for the grace of god…

.

I’m suprised no ones blamed the agency driver who might have been at the wheel of the boat he fell off

.

I don’t give a ■■■■ you idiot.

A lot of these people are ISIS terrorists according to many reports and the kid is caught up in an evil Islamic regime that is not my fault or the fault of my fellow countrymen. Why should they come here and further overpopulate this overpopulated island. We cannot cope with any more immigrants especially Muslims that want to impose their evil political religion upon us, bomb us, ■■■■ our girls, terrorise us and sponge off our welfare, NHS. Demanding their f*ing human rights; no they can all F off along with all the stupid lefty, liberal, Marxist politically correct morons that support them.

You hit a massive nerve with me!!!

Who is the idiot ■■? you say a three year old kid could be an ISIS terrorist !!
ffs go crawl back under your stone and pick yer knuckles up of the ground

I did not say a little kid was an ISIS terrorist you thick moron!!!

Usual blubery… etc

An opinion shared by many who get nervous around bearded brown folk.

Perhaps the world would be a better place if those wishing to relocate had to leave their fairy stories at the border and accept the religion de mass of their chosen country. In the UK for instance a majority of folks soon belong to the church of ‘cannot be arsed lets not worry about what happens after, lets focus on now.’

Doesnt mean they have to belive it or support it just integrate into our way of thinking with less baggage.

Would I be cynical in saying the child looks very white and appears to be wearing very clean western clothing, perhaps but on face value we have a dead child and thats all I care about.

Preaching of hatred works both ways you know, but just maybe the world would be a better place if everyone was aetheist, but then Im sure we would find something else to squabble about.

They are trying to make your everyday Joe public feel guilty about an issue we have no power over. They are using the body of a wee kid, a shocking picture that a lot of media outlets have blurred to give this wee boy some dignity. I don’t like someone trying to manipulate me. I know hundreds and hundreds of folk are drowning each week. But they choose to go on that boat. That wee boys parents choose to put him in harms way.

The UK does plenty it throws aid at countries, it deploys troops when needed to protect people.

This isn’t about accepting 10k worth of refugees, this is about protecting our way of life. I’m talking about protecting our health service, our education services, our housing crisis. There is massive poverty in the UK that needs sorted before we can accept 10k worth of refugees. I don’t care what Germany takes or bloody any other ■■■■■ We do our bit in our own way. We are not landlocked to Europe so our responsibility is not the same to these people as mainland Europe.

This isn’t the first wee boy to wash up on a beach and he won’t be the last. But he is the first to be photographed and exploited for people’s own agendas. It’s an awful sin my heart broke when I seen that picture but there is a bigger picture.

.

Don’t know what’s worse seeing a picture of a dead child or some of the veiws on here.

Quite a lot of us old Middle East drivers made good friends in Syria and in particular I worry for Sammi Sirrissi our agent in Damascus and Mohamed Awhad from Aleppo who did our papers at Bab Al Hawa on the Turkish border (and their families).

The Syrian drivers would always stop and offer help, sometimes insisting on cooking if they saw you parked up first in the Saudi desert & I made friends with quite a few of them.

I liked to run with them from H4 to Turayf –as in this picture stopped for lunch half way across

Syria used to be a really safe welcoming country with really great people, if I had room I would take as many as I could fit in at home.
The ISIS lot terrorising them are more likely to come from the UK/Europe & other countries rather than from their own ranks.

Sadly not.

a boat that sinks with 500 people on board, women and children, all die… no-one cares…

sad times we live in…

Maybe this picture will make some people sit up and take action !

What action have you taken, raymundo?

I think that a lot of us do care, but the questions are .Why were they on the boat and why was the boat there?Years ago there were charities in London trying to help teenagers from such places as Glasgow Liverpool and Belfast who were fetching up from trains thinking that London was paved with gold.Caring people had to pick up the pieces and try to tell them that there was nothing for them in London and they would be better with their friends and families in most cases back home.

So,what can we do…give money to the countless charities set up to “help” these people yet year on year they ask again for our donations because less than half the money donated actually makes it to those who need it!
Unfortunately there are millions of children in need around the world and that includes here in the UK,kids in this country in extreme poverty beyond what most of us could ever imagine,or kids in the UK suffering abuse whether it be ■■■■■■,physical or mental abuse…it’s a very sad fact of life that this does exist but it will never be completely eradicated from our or any society.
Anyone with kids or without cannot help but be moved by the picture and as a father myself the only thing that made me and my wife thing twice about having kids initially was did we really want to bring a a child into the ■■■■ world we live in,we decided that we did because until I take my last breath on this earth I will be here to protect/be there for him…sadly many children do not have someone to be there for them.
The picture is devastatingly sad and the sad truth is this poor little boy will not be the last to lose his/her life in such circumstances, but this needs more than pity it needs some serious direct action from those that can provide it,all these refugees are fleeing ISIS and they’ll keep running until the people chasing them are dealt with, but as yet no country has come forward to do that apart from the air strikes being carried out…should they be doing more?thats another debate, should the UK send our troops to Syria knowing that some won’t come back home?
It’s a situation with no answer at the minute and every country involved is keeping it at arms length because once they go in on the ground they are signing up to another war that will take many years and many deaths to resolve.
Anyway I’m babbling on,
R.I.P little man,no one can harm you now.

That’s the problem, like others I don’t know what to do but then again I’m a thick moron who was moved by seeing a picture of a dead child and reposted it on Trucknet, unlike a few on here who just plain couldn’t care less but pretend they do.
ps. I’m not a politician or leader of a country who could do something about it if they wanted !
