pulled on woodall services northbound last year and seen this fine speciman
could’nt find the driver so dont know where it was bound for.york perhaps ?


This locomotive is in running order and moves around the country from one preserved railway to another. The loco alone weighs 93 tons, the tender is 52 tons.

Brings back some good memorys,i used to work repairing steam engines in the 60s before i was trucking.As you say its a great specimen.

No mate i worked for british rail at horwich[bolton]till being made redundant by mr r beeching 1963.

The loco was on its way to the north yorkshire moors railway, where I get a chance to fire it :slight_smile:

I’m quite sure it was well bottle screwed down, but steel wheels on steel
rails. :open_mouth: , I think I would be into every services checking those chains. :unamused:
