Health and Safety lunacy

Rob K:
Who remembers the days of climbing on the FLT forks to get a ‘lift up’ onto the load/whatever? Try asking them that now and they look at you like you’ve just called their mother a slag. :open_mouth:

Once wrenched my shoulder quite badly, somewhere near Glasgow, trying to pull a tilt roof back accross whilst standing on the forks at a height where my arms were level with the trailer roof. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Had opened up the leeward side to tip that side then the wind suddenly turned right around, picked the whole tilt up & moved it accross a foot or 2. Heck of a job I had with it, whilst next drivers in the queue looked on. :unamused:

‘… my own safety is ultimately my responsibility …’

‘…your safety is his responsibility too…’

‘…he is a nutter … and no amount of red tape can or should remove accountability…’

Yep: and from the scant detail, I’d at least briefly mention, or better still (?) scribble down one’s concern to:

a) The herbert.
b) Someone less of ‘…a nutter…’ at his place.
c) Your employer.

And as we’ll probably agree, do it without getting overexcited :exclamation:

I have never understood that when your on a building site trousers would save your life but shorts wont

its to stop nasty things running up your leg lol

I have often wondered about this one too, trousers or shorts, almost all of the workers are showing their bum, so it cannot be for any good reason :stuck_out_tongue:
