Don’t see how they’re short of money when on the Dover - Calais service they’re charging £6 for a small handful of chips and a plain burger when normally you get a full meal for the same price modern day piracy :open_mouth:

the owners from dubai which implies the same operating practices as the muslim shopkeepers selling bog roll for £10.

i wouldnt have thought the taliban crew would be making enough wages to let them be cut even further?

best adjust the tastebuds to stena flavour though god knows what they will be like if they ever have no competition on the irish sea.

No Stena for us, DFDS will be rubbing their hands in Dover, with the added bonus of free slops on that crossing

i was thinking more on the cairnryan/larne option assuming nobody takes over operations there.
it has to make the stena trip crammed unless theres an alternative operator.
if i had to choose id have picked the taliban cooked menu on the european anything over stena but at the same time, you end up bored with both.

Perhaps wee Miss kranky will get Caledonian in there seeing as it’s government owned

if calmac get to run it,then itl be back to doing a dogleg blindside reverse up the ramp trying not to run over any sheep.

Not looking good.
Peel Ports have denied a P&O ferry from leaving Liverpool for Dublin over an unpaid docking fee of £600000.
Effectively holding the ship to ransom.

They are like the MSAs, they make their big money from cars and coaches full of people , and that trade has virtually ceased.

The one held in Liverpool doesn’t, very little non freight on it, probably the fact that it is so expensive and makes Dublin Holyhead a cheaper option has not helped it.

8 hours on the boat compared to 3.5 is only useful for non time critical trailers and those using it as a means of extending it into a day off .( perish the thought)
holyhead or cairnryan is the hooligans option.
all its going to take is 1 brick to tumble then theyre down the pan in these conditions.

i dont think itl make much difference during this time what ferry runs or not.
i got told by a guy who went out on the morning stena belfast/cairnryan today that the entire load consisted of 5 accompanied trucks,3 cars, and 9 unaccompanied trailers…not exactly a paying load.

Stena grub on Belfast/Cairnryan pure muck,
wouldn’t feed it to a dog!!!

Was on 0330 outta Belfast 2weeks ago just 3 of us
in Agro trucks and about 8 unaccompanied trailers no cars/vans!!! :open_mouth:

you would think with the volume of traffic they could work with each other and half the crossing at the same time as refurbishing/servicing a boat each…wouldnt seem like rocket science though they obviously work with the same logic as why dont they repair all the roads when theres no traffic on them to disrupt.
2 crossings from each of them would be more than ample.
