ok my first question is, how many clips are the in the lgv hazzard? 14 or 19?
cant find the answer or a clear answer as they do it for the car or motorcycles, which has a lower pass grade etc so a little confusing
and they are now cgi (animated right as of the 12th jan 2015? is this easier or more difficult as i have been practising the real life motion clips and been getting the hang of them passing them now, which has take me some time, now my test is tomorrow so it has thrown a bit of caution to the wind as they say, im a little aprehensive, i was just wondering the opinions of others that have done the test themselves, did they find it easier or harder?
The best bit of advice I could give you is when you see a hazard click…half second pause click half second pause click…3 clicks per hazard and try not to click more than 12 times during each seen because you chance the risk of getting 0 points for over clicking
19 clips and one with two is correct as stated…good luck !!
Ah perfect confirmation then, I did find a another link after posting this but just to be certain left the topic open. And I think I have got hang of the hazzard now, just bathing the children, as do the hazzard all night while mrs put kids away and cooks me tea, just to get that extra revision in! Put in the effort and it shall be returned… So they say
That’s good to hear that the cgi clips are being used. Been struggling practising with the real clips because the video quality is pants.
Good luck
P.s not sure I’m correct on this but even though each test is booked and paid for independently if you fail one but pass the other you have to re sit them both.

I think this is how I passed it at the second attempt. It’s just a money making scheme and a complete waste of time. If you see a hazard and click immediately it doesn’t register as the window where it registers in the computer program hasn’t opened.
Edit: If it’s a new system it might work now so I guess you’re a guinea pig and on your own.

No, I passed the theory, but failed the hazard, and only had to resit the hazard. I’ve got a feeling you have to resit both for a car though.

Ahhh…thats where I`ve got my wires crossed. The guy that told me you had to resit both was doing his car test
I failed the hazard the first time because I was reassured it was real video clips and just the same as a real-life situation but as said previously you have to time your clicks right. I was clicking way too soon and scored 66 the first time
I found it’s more about learning how to pass the test rather a test of hazard perception. Still, it’s what we’ve got and you sound like you’ve done your homework so good luck!
PS one of my clips showed a soaking-wet road. Don’t bother clicking for that for obvious reasons…

I passed both hazard perception and the 100multi questions first time round but I bought a DVD from Amazon with the official dsa book and loads of hazard perception tests to practice… they are both a money making scheme along with the cpc but without them you can’t drive a hgv, the way of the world I’m afraid to say
Did my theory and hazard perception about 10 days ago and passed both. They weren’t using the cgi clips then. Be careful about clicking, on my last clip (number 19) I saw a girl with her dog heading towards the road to get to the field on the other side so i clicked once as she started to hurry towards the road i clicked twice, then as she got onto the road i clicked three times. At the end of the clip i scored zero for cheating, i still passed which is all i cared about so wasn’t to upset about it.
To practice I used The complete theory and hazard perception for lgv and pcv by focus media (pc software )which helped loads. When i did my Cat D hazard perception, it took me three attempts. My instructor at the time said that as an experienced driver, you see the hazards before the clip wants you to. Thats why i bought the software because I was talking no chances this time round.
The best bit of advice i can give is this.
Look at the road
Narrow roads - something coming the other way - animals - pedestrians.
Built up area - kids playing, car doors opening, people crossing between cars, car pulling out of driveways and junctions
High street - buses, people crossing, cars pulling out ( especially at roundabouts etc)
The clips are about 1 minute long so if after 30 seconds nothing has happened and you are approaching a roundabout for example, this is where the hazard will happen so look for cars pulling out and also poor lane dicipline etc.
The other thing i noticed was that they use a euro car (euro something anyway) van to stage hazards. If you see on, this is going to be related to the hazard.
Hope something in there helps, the software really helped as it records progress but also allows you to look back at the clip to see the hazard and where you clicked
