Am I wrong in thinking that you shouldn’t mix pallets of food and hazardous goods? I got 8 of bagels to collect tomorrow then 1.8Ton of “hazardous”.
Ooooh, big no,no Radar.
Depends what they are really. Some food ingredients are hazardous themselves
It’s Class 3, UN 1190 Ethyl Formate. Before that is 8 pallets of Bagels.
Might be alright, depends on who you are delivering them to.
the answer is no, however i’m not that bothered if you do because i don’t eat bagels
It’s going back to base. Just read up on it and its “safe” according to the FDA.

I would have thought that if the “hazardous” needed ADR then mixed loads might be a no no but if not then shouldn’t the packaging be the first level of containment any way?
Just as an aside what about those mixed pallets that are picked between RDC and store? I regularly deliver pallets with cleaning and ambient food products on the same film wrapped pallets.
As its only a flammable liquid, it’s no problem at all - only toxic and infectious goods have restrictions with food.
Good practice though would be to keep the two apart as much as possible.
Surely you can get 8 bagels in your cab,I had a full loaf in mine the other day

Hi Radar19,
1.8t of UN 1190 is a fully regulated ADR load, so you’ll need your ADR licence and orange plates etc.
Apart from that, I can’t add anything to what khdgsa has said.
If it all goes wrong, just be aware that the cooking time for bagels can vary.
Plain or flavoured
