Try the M&S bags… they’re strong and soft and very very…

They don’t keep the fleet at Twynholm anymore, it’ll be an hour plus drive to Ecclefechan for you. You could try Sawyers/Agro at Dumfries, think they pay a bit better.

Is it true…

That the ex F1 driver David Coulthard dad started this business?

Or have I lost a bet?

YAY me!..

I’ve won the bet.

Don’t know if it was David Coulthard’s dad or grandad who started Hayton Coulthard but it is the same family. It’s been going for 100 years so probably started by his great-Grandad.

I once read a quote in a truck magazine that David Coulthard had once driven a truck around the yard a few times but didn’t show any interest in driving a truck for a living. Gosh, really? :stuck_out_tongue:

They used to be notorious for running bent, the only reason they are still going is that Gregory’s took them over after they had their O licence revoked and managed to get it re-instated.

As Harry says a very long-established and well-known haulier operating in various markets with a fairly chequered past. Be aware they do one of the big bargain type stores contract so it may be there recruiting for that which is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea compared to their other traffic.

From what can be seen, decent late kit and like most in Scotland will apply no higher or less than the going rate in that particular area.

As for the running bent they used to run a lot of sub-contractors in there colours and effectively turned a blind eye to issues that tend to arise when using sub-contractors. I would imagine working direct for them nowadays it will be very compliant. As above also bought by Gregory’s a year or so ago, so now basically Gregory’s Scottish arm. They do seem to be recruiting on a fairly regular basis but its probably more to do with more work (especially this time of year) and contract wins now they are part of the large Gregory group.

The history of the company is on their website, for those who are interested.

The company is now run by Duncan jnr, and is half owned by Gregorys in whose name all the official documentation is.

They have the B & M contract, which is run out of Lesmahagow.

Unless advertised as Lesmahagow based it will be either general, chipliner or walking floor work. Do a lot of work for Highland Spring and have a warehouse in ■■■■■■■■■■■ for storing water. Also do a lot of Egger work from Hexham. 100% legal noe, decent enough tackle, pretty much every shift pattern available.

Also Egger at Auchinleck, where they have some lorries based, also some based at Glespin.
