Rode through Twynholm last week and noticed a Hayton Coultard set up there, is it anyway involved or related with David Coultard who comes from the village? Or is it just a co-incidence?
If the boss had a very square head, they’re probably related
Hayton Coulthard was founded in 1916 and runs a fleet of 120 trailers, including curtainsiders and controlled-temperature trailers. It is the family business of former Formula One racing driver David Coulthard.
just copied of the web

Doesn’t his brother run it ?

No, it’s owned by Gregory Distribution .
they fell foul of the local traffic commissioner some years ago , lost their O licence and hence subbied their work out.
Cannot recall if you do need an O licence for a trailer only operation and hence Not sure if they ever got it back?
Didn’t Gregory’s take over After O licence probs
As far as i can fathom (in relation to the report on this thread), Duncan Couthard was only banned for 10 years.

If anyone has further info then please help yourself and pop it up.
Hayton Coulthard are only 50% owned by Gregory Distribution with the Coulthard family still owning the remaining 50%, Duncan Coulthard (Jr) and his wife are the sole directors of the business and Duncan is also the TM.
Duncan (Snr.) retired 4 years ago and no longer runs the business day to day.
Duncan Coulthard is indeed the brother of David Coulthard.
HTH.

Ok, thanks for that. It appears (according to Companies house) that there is lots more Directors than Duncan (jnr) and his wife, including John Gregory.
And you’ve cleared it up, for me at least, that there is a Duncan senior and junior. As i know nothing about them.
Ain’t they got a museum to old square jaw on site as well?

Yeah it went all subbed when they got caught. Were partnering gregs for a long time before gregs put money in. Gotta be the most famous Scottish haulier apart from Malcolm’s & Craibs maybe but the kit ain’t as ■■■■ as Coulthard’s.
I was amazed gregs still let em buy ■■■■ kit but John’s been spunking his own wedge on new topliners with the shiniest rims I’ve ever seen. I know they always struggle for trampers in the south west so maybe he’s trying to entice the glory boys.
