Have you seen a trailer like this?

last night on the roundabout at end of A50 / M1, i saw a foreign registered unit and normal length trailer which was a step deck but was the same height as a straight frame and it only had one axle at the rear of the trailer. The wheel was. a small one too.It just looked weird

Oh :unamused:

I saw a strange thing last week as well - a car transporter front bit with no trailer on at all :open_mouth: What’s happening eh :unamused:

Has anyone seen the Out and About section in the Jan 14 issue of Trucking Magazine? There is a picture of a Scania towing a little 10ft mobile catering container. It looks like its not got any wheels and is just getting dragged along the Motorway. That’s quite a strange looking trailer.

I keep seeing a Scania Longline pulling a 20’ container using only the front section of a splitter trailer.

Looks very odd having the tractor unit bigger than the trailer!

Some of our foreign friends do run some odd trailer configurations. Could have been a specialist furniture trailer, single axle indicating a low payload.

I saw something like this a while ago; was something to do with Airbus.

There certainly are trailers similar in description to that doing stuff like plane wings and fuselage.

Ah come to think about it i’ve spotted that a couple of times it does look silly.

Are you sure it’s the front end of a splitter trl or is it an old 20" skelly with no neck or short neck

Sealy beds trailers are like that, single axle on tiny wheels yet look about normal length, rear steer too.

long ago where I was working we had a single axle 18 ft trailer for tight spots.
When coupled to my Transcon it sat so high at the front that we couldn’t load pallets with a forklift.

did you try loading them at the back  most forks will lift 12 ft how high was the bed of the trailer that a fork couldn’t reach it

I keep seeing a Home Bargains twin axle short (10m?) double decker trailer. Looks quite odd, bet it blows about a bit too!
