Probably because more cars these days have lights that come on automatically. Mine do my my focus

My car has auto sensor lights and daytime running lights which I believe is the law now. But I still put full beam on manually, as the daytime running lights are front only and I like to have lights on all round. Also don’t trust the auto sensors as it may be bright but still not be 100% visibility, and in such a situation I like to have full lights on. In fact I have full lights on most of the time after all who wants to be less visible than they can be.

this is spot on I see too many tossers with a few led’s on at the front nothing on the back in mist and fog and low light and all because they are to thick to turn the lights on by themselves.

its the same with dashboards that light up they are a terrible idea as again people see the nice bright lights on the speedo and are again too stupid to realise they cant see where they are going.

While we are on the lights subject, rear fog lights on newly built vehicles = Pointless.
Most modern day vehicle tail lights are more than bright enough for any fog. Add the statutory 3 level brake lights into the equation and fog lights are just a accessory for those to look like they have noticed a spot of rain :unamused: or a whisper of morning dew but then forget to turn them off !!

Back in 2006 I had a merc company car which had auto lights

Narh its more like have you noticed the retards driving about with fog lights on during the day n night yet the aint even any fog about, they think its cool and use the excuse that "oh it’s so I can be seen " pretty knobbish if you ask me

And then theres the car drivers that still insist on using mobiles whilst there driving… what part of the law don’t they understand…like the moron this morning on his mobile no attempt to use his indicators " to busy on his mobile " when I called him a knob he soon got arse -holes trying to shout abuse back whilst driving and on hit mobile…just a shame he ran into the kerb…lol

But hey I still feel the love whilst driving…Pitty I didn’t have a dash cam handy…

One of my faves is when they are texting. If they are next to me,i nudge forward whilst hitting the horn.

Funny as f**k when their head shoots up as they set off only to realise the car in front of them hasn’t gone any where.

Usually get the coffee shaker gesture off them when they realise they have been framed lol.

Car drivers seem to be behaving well, as they put their headlights on in daytime to suit the road conditions.
They light up for very bright low sun,an hour before sunset when it makes a difference to stand out and be seen, it is impressive.
Also in precipitation, they light up.
In Italy ,it is law to have headlights on in the daytime, should be in the UK.

toby…TOBY…TOBY, its time to wake up and go to work

Enjoyed a little giggle at the council litter picker truck with the flashing orange lights on for no reason today.

Ive noticed a lot of eco-minded drivers that conserve the planets resources by using only one headlight. On the other end of the scale, their opposites prefer the strategy of never dipping their main beam for fear of losing sight of the road they`re on. :unamused:

And they only seem more polite at night cos theres less of em.

‘…Car drivers seem to … put their headlights on in daytime …’

I reckon herd mentality and ‘oooh, I’d better join-in’ without proper reason affects 99% of those whose cars do not have them come on automatically.

At worse (apart from using energy to support their vanity) such lights reduce the chance of a cyclist being seen amongst an elephant train of unnecessarily/over-illuminated retards hugging the bumper of the texting moron in front :unamused:

I always run my headlights during the day. It does actually help people see you.

‘…I always run my headlights during the day. It does actually help people see you…’

Yeah, these half-wit ‘…people…’ surely need extra help - when my hoofing great combination isn’t big enough and my 35 hours of CPC bolleaux to be aware of muppets is clearly also inadequate.

Why is it my job to nurse such liabilities through their tiring existence by tip-toeing the highway lit as as a disco when the NHS/Cameron/The EU/Plod (or whatever strata of inadequate governance) is managing us this week should counsel them with a kicking on society’s behalf.

Send them on a ‘Watch out for Great Big Lorries’ course, perhaps?

Or does ‘Care in the Community’ really mean that I’m resposible for them as well as my scumbag self  :open_mouth:

Also as before - my playing the Samaritan to the inept would be at the visibility expense of legitimate cyclists who as a consequence of me being ultra-lit become even greater black-holes of vulnerability

HK, Care in the Community did not work. I know this for fact.

Driver-Once-More:
‘…HK, Care in the Community did not work. I know this for fact…’

Half correct - but it remains none the less due to a name-change, DOM

Nulab and the other pro-EU, ultra Liberal, Green/Con pinko’s re-named it ‘diversity’, whereupon we’re regularly manipulated, not least via their mouthpiece, the BBC to swallow it without question, mate
