If VOSA were to take action, that would imply that they actually believe what the good folks of this forum are saying…
Coz everything people say on here is the honest truth, isn’t it

I’m not suggesting they will recognise Squiddy, I am saying it gives them things to look for… Have you never heard of ‘Silent checks’ ? You don’t know who s in that car near the pumps ?

Or that you throw away parking tickets because your vehicle is not registered in the UK or that you use a handheld device to record videos whilst driving … you should be fine.

I was joking in the way that things seem funny when you have consumed too much alcohol

Doesn’t really mean anything. I rented a VW Passat 2 years ago in the UK and drove right through the middle of London on my way back to Heathrow to fly out, 6 months later I got a summons from the GLC for violating the congeston charge, I used a NY state driving licence by the way.
And you paid the fine?

That’s because it was rented on UK plates I assume, not US ones. Pretty standard for rental companies to pass on fines. I trust you did the right thing and ignored it
VOSA know the score with everything a truck driver might or might not do, they also know the pressure of the job with times etc. I don’t do anything illegal knowingly but you only have to look around these forums to see how many different opinions there are on whats 100% correct and not wrong.
From fire fighters to airline pilots to police, they all run their jobs by a set of rules. In our industry, everybody (on the road at least) has their own rules !

I’d be more concerned that they are reading Carryfasts posts
If they are the next generation DCPC will involve mandatory drug tests
i’m gonna stick my head on the parapit here, i am sort of, an employee of VOSA, i was put forward by my garage i work for, to become an MOT tester, VOSA, paid for my training which was a 3day course in lincoln, and then was inspected in my work place while doing an MOT test a vehicle. they then leave us to it, untill today, when we had a surprise inspection from them, he said it only be a quick one, 2hrs later he went away happy. so it not only you poor trucker’s that get ■■■■■■ off with VOSA, the garage’s that perform MOT’s for VOSA, also get ■■■■■■ off with them as well…
I’ve been an MOT tester and I was quite proud of my Ministry association. I’d never associate myself with Vosa though. (It was a while ago!)
Much like I’d never describe myself as an LGV driver or call an artic a “unit and trailer”. Those are two of my pet hates

Not a chance
I also went thrugh a speed camera on the A43 at 85mph and they couldn’t get me for that
