Have you ever "lost" a pallet

The other day I had a delivery in Burton upon Trent. Only 7 pallets of cardboard but they were quite oversized about 1500mm x 500mm. So pulled the curtain and pointed to all the 7 pallets, got back in the cab and soon had a toot to say he was done. All sorted he signed the paperwork as I was doing the curtain back up.
I then had one last delivery in Warwick, unloading starting to commence when I noticed that I still had a pallet left on for Burton, alot of swearing and head scratching at my stupidity I was pretty much in the brown and smelly at this point as I was to go drop the empty trl in Witney after this and take a loaded one back home. The only defence I have is that this pallet was turned length ways as it blended in with the other pallets :unamused:
Anyway I ripped the labels off and the nice bloke at Warick took it and shredded it
End of the day the fella at burton did sign for it after all.

Hahaha i like your style, like you said the Burton guy signed for it, a quality blame shifting move i say

The only pallett ive lost is 10x Steel Lintels that decided to rip through the side of the curtain on a roundabout, unfortunatly i had to stop and pick them up

Had a dishwasher bounce off the floor when opening the curtain once in a comet RDC,the top one too of a stack of three does that count?

a long time a go when I had my first main driving job I was delivering at Liverpool wholesale and I was going back and forth to the pitches dropping there pallets off with a fork lift I had borrowed, I had been dropping the pallets off at the pitches and I only had about 10 to do when I got there by the time I finished I had only delivered 9 and the other had vanished .never did know who had the other one and it never happened again. Now dropping a few pallets that’s a different story had loads of them and had to stand there and pick them up!!!

Pallet - WHAT pallet!

brados:
Pallet - WHAT pallet!

ohhhhh yessss. been there!!! lol…

Once lost 28 cases of Mars bars  that were returned from a cash & carry in London when the doppy arse signed a clean POD but then someone decided to reject the bottom couple of layers for crushed boxes but the man who had signed me off had cleared of inside for his dinner, did i mind handballing them back on as nobody else could drive the forklift??..no problem if it helps

Last month

Central London and 2 drops left, 8 pallets due to go to one and 6 to the other. Curtain was busted at the front so I had to use the pump truck to separate them up. Put the 8 slightly to the rear of the other 6 and the forkie starts unloading, he was only a trainee and he had to move some of them about to get a decent angle. All finished and paperwork signed.

Off to the last drop, took 2 hours to get there in the ZBing traffic, and notice I have 7 pallets, one of them pushed up against the back of the other lot. I confess to the friendly Polish forkie and ask him what he reckons I should do. He said “No problem, I’ll make it go away” and away it went!
It were only scrap bits of wood used in construction, perhaps if it was LCD TV’s or something It might have been different!

  Good to see I’m not on my own then!!

Had 2 incidents many years ago, one was delivering new spuds to Liverpool wholesale market, we would get there about midnight, park outside the buyers unit and take the ropes off and undo all but a few of the ties on the sheet.
The forklift driver would come in about 3am knock us up, get the sheet off and get paperwork signed then turn back in, he helped himself as he wanted.
This particular night I get a knock at 1am, “Get your sheet off driver, we got to get these back out quick today.”
So I do the usual and turn back in.
3am, I get another knock asking me where his spuds are ? I said your man took them off earlier and signed for them.
Well it wasn’t his man at all and 22 ton of spuds had disappeared no doubt straight onto another truck and away, and security never saw a thing, apparently.
The other incident was while unloading a load of eggs off a double decker the ■■■■■■ working my ramp dropped it down a few seconds before I got to it hence the pallet and pumptruck flying off the back.
