Glad this post came up cause I was going to bore you all anyway with my life story. I joined the army in 1992 at 16,they put me through my class 1 in 97 then i done a lot of agency work during my leave etc.Eventually I left the Army sept 2002 moved back to Scotland with wife and wean and carried on driving be it agency or full time.
Funny thing is I stopped driving about a year and a half ago (just cause I got fed up being away from home as the reason I left the Army was so I could see my wean growing up, also I met alot of very stupid transport managers who couldnt arrange a drink in a brewery) and got a job with the council as a community Warden where I basically walk around a certain area all day 1000-1800 and get about £15000 pa for the privellige and as I now have 2 weans with another on the way I get the full tax credits which puts me on about £19000pa with free NHS prescription etc and only work a 35 hour week. Its greatjavascript:emoticon(‘’)
Laughing and proves there is life after driving I hope I will never have to drive for a living again but I keep myself updated on this excellent site just incase i have to
I am a full time civil servant and have been since 1982 but always wanted to drive trucks since I was a kid.
Got my chance to take my test in 1985 and did it since then I have worked part time for a number of firms in North Yorkshire. Love every minite of my driving even if it is only at weekends and evenings.
