Have the green army lost "every little helps" contract?

Given the amount of dead time I spend sitting at tesco I wouldn’t be surprised, 3 hrs typically with chilled. Last week I did a 15hr shift and spent 9hrs wheels not turning !!!

billybigrig:
It’s true. Apparently Tesco wanted them.to do 11 hour drives at 65mph. :grimacing:

Dont tell me they paying 2x the min wage :astonished: :astonished: :astonished: :astonished:

If you’d been doing 65mph, you’d have got there quicker and got tipped earlier. Then you could have told your boss you’d done 11 hrs, you’ll get back whenever. He’d have understood

Of course it ain’t true. Tesco own stobart

You gotta go there to come back

Mr Tinkler and Mr William Stobart are buying almost all of Westbury’s property portfolio for £142m, a slight premium to the net asset value.

Westbury will then buy Eddie Stobart Group from Mr Tinkler and Mr Stobart for £138m, comprising £62m in cash and £76m in new shares in the revamped group. (News From 2007)

Er, where does TESCO get a mention …? “DOOH!” One needs to get one’s facts right, or indeed engage brain before fingers on PC keyboard!!

It was meant to be sarcastic hence the smiley face at the end.
Anyway is it true Stobarts are funded by the Mormons.

I’ve noticed the fleet doesn’t look quite as tidy as it used to.

check out that front tyre on the fh12, must have been one of his racing teams unit

Hope nobody was seriously injured as a result of the damage those vehicles sustained in those pictures your getting jollys off, lol

Wheel Nut:
…and forgetting Anderson leads

What is the intended use of these anderson leads in this instance? Are they for powering something off the trailer that it isn’t normally required to do or something? If it was a standard feature then why aren’t they stored with the tractor/trailer?

If I remember correctly, Fiona normally drives for Stobart chilled using fridge trailers with no tail lifts. On this particular episode, she was sent out on a Tesco run using an urban trailer with a tail lift. There was no Anderson lead with the trailer and she hadn’t got one in her tractor (as she wouldn’t normally need it). If the episode is to be believed, this was her first encounter with a tail lift, hence her failure to appreciate the need for the lead.

I didn’t see the episode in question but if this is the case then it’s a planner fail.

Perhaps there should be a disclaimer noon of eddies elves were harmed totaling these trucks.

Thank you for the explanation DJW. Having not been in a similar situation I can see how such a thing would be relevant but I hope in such situations my pre-trip checks would reveal that issue.

I have taken vehicles out that have not had the tail lift working for one reason or another but on all of those occasions the office have been informed prior to departure. However, all my experience has been of rigids.

It could have been a similar thing having reached her drop that she did not have the key for the locked out tail lift controls with her because she had not been given it or it had not been with her regular trailer before therefore why should she need to check for it.

This would of course be one of the reasons to do a pre-vehicle and pre-trailer check of all and everything that is and should be working before departure… :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

She quite clearly told the lad she’d never done anything like this before and he said “any probs gimmie a ring”
And she did…fair play, lol

If i was doing shop work the FIRST thing i would do when i get the trailer is check ive got the right one .The only
way to do that is jump up on the back of the trailer get in back and check cages have shop names on where i am going to
When you jump in back of trailer you would have seen tail lift if i didn’t know how to work it i would ask . Truth be known
she had the lead all the time and knew how to work it but it makes better tv if she looks like a wally don’t ask me i have know idea why.

I am shocked,I did not realise sobart trucks crashed , ha must be trick computerised pics or somthing…I thought they were perfect, …cant get the firemen you know.

as far as i know every stobart unit has an anderson lead as part of their kit ?

Nope, not all of them.

I drive the ones Fiona drives (same depot), and it’s entirely realistic she never had the lead onboard.

I don’t get all the people hating on Fiona, she is a nice girly girl, so what, the TV show continually sets out to make her look stupid and what’s worse even her fellow colleagues feel free to talk bad about her, at the end of the day she is a driver like all of us, out there to earn a crust, so what if she is a bird, bet she can reverse every bit as good as half you guys with a million years so called experience out there, in fact sitting watching some of these old school drivers reverse on bays at dc’s I reckon she’s every bit as good.

None of my posts are having a go at Fiona, in fact I would use her zb for toothpaste :stuck_out_tongue:

If any Stobart driver gets any ■■■■■■■■■■ from me it is the elves on a ferry or in a bar with hi viz yellow or pink Stobby gear on, or anyone who thinks the TV programme is good for the company image.

Could Great Bear cope with the job?
