Have paintbrush will travel

just an update for anybody thats interested. after the accident in spain i spent a month on the sick and was offered an chance of a new career as a painter decorator. i had never done anything like this before but decided to take the bull by the horns and give it a go.
after years of 12-15 hour days with weeks away from home i now start work at 0630 and home by 1600 at the very latest (1130 today). the furthest i travel now is an average of an hour each way a day! i have my dinner at home, a hot bath after work and a king size bed to kip in each night. take home pay■■? £430 a week minimum. some days i can earn £200 a day.
yes i do miss the trucking at times but then think what i would be doing if i was still at it long hours, weeks away, crap parking, traffic problems, trying to sleep in a tin box when its 25-30 deg in milan/barcelona/madrid/etc, sat for hours on end waiting for a plt of groupage to come in.
now, for the time being at least i am very very
keep on trucking fellas

I hope everything works out for you mate.

You just have to read a few posts to remind you how good the job was  , when you start getting the diesel withdrawal symptoms.
That should put you back on the right track
