What if you were to surrender your license?Car license or hgv do you need to start from scratch or just satisfy dvla
You can apply for a new licence, and will get the same entitlements as the one you surrendered (provided the DVLA medical section’s questions can be satisfactorily answered). You don’t have to retake driving tests.

Is it still the case it can be an EU doctor ,for the medical examination, does anybody know ? Despite the UK leaving the EU !!?
