Haulage Websites

What are peoples views on having a website? Do you think it only interests larger companies?

I speak to alot of owner drivers with websites and speak to companies running 10+ wagons but don’t have one and seem to think it wouldn’t be worthwhile!

I think it’s really depends on what type of work you’re doing. If you mainly work for one or 2 regulars then probably not worth it, unless you have a youth that wants to do one for peanuts.

If you’re picking up work from all over the place especially if you a bit of a specialist haulier, then maybe quite good for getting work, but you’ll need to know how to get it a good placing in the search engine.

it is very important nowadays to have a website.
at one time, if you was in the yellow pages you were here to stay. if you wasn’t, then you were here today, gone tomorrow.

if you quote a job for a company, there will be someone much younger than you checking you out.
if they can’t find any info on you, you don’t exist.

shop around though, you could pay through the nose for something very basic.

my website man is the dogs nadgers. and he’s not expensive.

Everyone who runs a business needs a website, even if it’s only got basic contact details, but don’t put personal mobile & email details on it.

I found though that having a website for a computer repair business was a bit of a white elephant, the BT directory was the best money I’ve ever spent on advertising, think about it  , I still get calls today even though I stopped in 2006 :open_mouth: .
