Yes DD it has been on before, the driver is a total ■■■■
It has been on before , and to be honest he’s doing no different to what we were told on dcpc courses.
Challenge them ( vosa) to whether it was a targeted stop or not , the theory Being you’re making it clear to vosa your not a push over and you know your stuff
No idea what there reaction to being challenged as not been stopped for years , show no intrest in me/ truck .
I guess that’s what this chaps doing

The reality being that you’re just making yourself look like one of those RDC waiting room lawyer knob ends and most drivers who come out with that crap tend not to know anything at all other than what their mates have told them and the challenge is usually met with a rolling of the eyes by the people in the checkpoint.
But one thing it does guarantee is that they’ll pay extra special attention to you and shaft you for anything.

Told to you by the same person who told you that two straps crossed over the back pallets is OK?
There’s an unwritten rule of truck club that goes something like
“In order to continue on ones journey be prepared to make life as easy as possible for anyone in officialdom. Regardless of employers giving it the bigun it’s the drivers job to be as helpful and as courteous as possible.
Also driving around with a minor fault may distract the powers that be enough to be let off to continue cracking on.”
Acting like a ■■■■ with a cameraphone and excessive use of the word ‘sir’ can backfire badly at a future date of the DVSA officers choosing.
Just bend over lads, no point trying to fight back.
(Ironically the same phrase my teachers used to use).
that was the instruction from the d/t and that what I will do , challenge them as too whether it’s a targeted stop or not , then report back the answer .
That said , they’ve never stopped me in 10 yrs and show no intrest , and unless they take there intrest from tauts to d/d boxes I can’t see anything changing soon
I think doze they will react in the same way as any other human being when challenged. I.e “Oh look we have a right one here”.
If orders is orders then carry on but try and suss them out first or you could be in for a right session.
A simple “may I ask why you stopped me”, could work once you well into the probing.
Top 4 places to be wary of taking advice seriously.
Middle management meetings
Dcpc courses
RDC waiting rooms
Internet forums.
, could work once you well into the probing.?
Dave is this an innuendo? Have you been probed by DVSA?

See we get told the exact opposite, don’t challenge them and show them respect. They can make your life a lot worse than you can make theirs. Stobarts are getting tugged everywhere because of load restraining so you lot obviously don’t know your stuff. Being told to challenge them to make it clear you’re not a push over is a crazy policy to have.
Don’t see what the point of being arsey about it is. At the end of the day they’re only people and the way to deal with people is to be polite. If you start giving it the big I AM, then they’ll probably think you’re a ■■■■■■ and waste you’re time. Not been pulled yet but that’s how I’d deal with them.
Reading the comments hes a proper armchair lawyer isn’t he. It’s a never ending circle, he gets shafted because of his crap attitude his crap attitude exists because he gets shafted. He’s good with all the long words and pretend legal jargon, shame hes too dim to realise that a moderate improvement in attitude would do him a big favour

And put every other Quayside truck in the mix to probably, bet Quayside or should I say DVDSA(or what ever Richard son of Head was floundering over) I think he trying, to say DSV, that would be the owners of Quayside since last year, are dead chuffed with him
Is he the driver, that every one gives a wide berth to on the ferry
ive not seen george the vosa bod for years, but he is a decent, pleasant, and fair all round decent guy.but your man is obviously just bringing a shedload of greif to himself and his company by being a gobstick…i favour leaving the abs lead off so that i get an immediate prohibition,as soon as i plug it in,i get an immediate lifting of prohibition and byebye driver,be more carefull in future…i always think its beter to throw them a bone and let them justify their job so they dont need to pick you to bits to find something worse.passing the attitude test works wonders, especially if you like laughng up your sleeve driving out the gates.

He comes across in the video as a pretty decent laid back sort of bloke, that’s George not the the fool with the camera … he’s just a ■■■■
I’ve been pulled a few times and simply do as they ask. If you’re legal there is nothing to worry about. I had a tug near Grimsby a while back 16:15 and pulled into their site. I got out and asked how long I would be as I have a collection from the dock and must be there before 16:30.
I said no problem either way but I will have to make a phone call straight away if I can’t make the deadline. Quick check from them, we are on green light so away I go. Collection made easy ,no worries.
Attitude test passed, and collection was true - freshney! For those that don’t know, they are keen.

Sorry Mate, in what is a usual occurrence for Me, I got the wrong end off the stick, again I thought you knew the “Driver”
.
George, the VOSA guy, had the patience of a man, who in his years as an inspector, has seen most of it before , .
I’m not for giving the Vosa a “banker”, such as you suggest with the ABS lead. I find it best to deal with them as they deal with you, mirror their attitude, and generaly they are polite and fair, just wanting to do the job as quick and efficiently as possible .
I think the driver is being a total arse, and like someone said, they could potentially make life a lot more difficult for you than you can for them.
However, VOSA are a public authority which means they do all have to show ID upon request. If they refuse you could refuse to deal with any of them until they can prove who they are. The vosa guy had no reason to touch him and in law that does amount assault. Not that anything would be done about it but the driver is correct there. I don’t believe there is any law stopping you filming them either.
So the driver is right in a few points in the video. But there is no need to be such an arse about it. Just let them do their job!
Oh and the whole bolllox about “it’s not my vehicle”, is he trying to suggest that if they find any defects then it’s not his responsibility?
