Has the world gone mad

If he was worried about the loss he would have worked. Not really a loss to him as he got to do what he wanted to on the Sunday. As I said some things are more important than work and to many people football is one of them. About once a month I turn down work worth around £200 to me and go to football which costs me about £225 in petrol, tickets and refreshments, do I think it’s a loss? Not a bit.

I don’t think the world has gone mad just because a lad wants a life outside work, quite the opposite in fact.

i think your missing the point. he is the one who asked me almost every month if i could give him some shifts mainly to get some experience, so i gave him a chance. also he would only have had to do it 2 weeks from 4 cos of the fortnightly hours, he also knew it was a sunday start before he agreed to do it. the hardest part of the job is the timing if there is a hold up. in a nutshell he had an oppourtunity take make a few quid and chose
otherwise, next time i will ask on these forums am sure there will no shortage of genuine offers.

btw coffee, a hope your not spending that cash to watch the jammy tarts, thats not a loss thats a downright TRAGEDY

No I get the point, he liked the idea and was happy enough until he had time to think about it and experience a couple of trips and realised it wasn’t worth missing his football for so he changed his mind. I can understand that, I’ve done it myself. You are ■■■■■■ because he chose football over you, get over it, nobody died and you now know not to offer him work again so everybody in the situation is a winner. Just because he preferred to do something else instead of work for you does not mean the world has gone mad.

I am and it’s worth every penny to me because I am spending it on what I want to do and I don’t give a flying [zb] what anyone else thinks about that, which is the point.

You weren’t here and someone has to do it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I just don’t get why the world has gone mad because someone realised they would rather do something they enjoy instead of working. Doesn’t seem mad to me at all and even more so when you think of all the threads on here with people complaining about the number of hours they are ‘forced’ to work. Given that, you would think someone who decided [zb] work, I’m going to play instead, would be regarded as more hero than villain. :stuck_out_tongue:

i didnt renew my season at ticket at Parkhead this year…!!!

Hey Wee Willie… would this job work if you ‘outbased’ the truck (or unit) ■■ If this was a regular thing,I could find you parking in one of the haulage yards, which are not more than 5 mins from me. (Maybe even put you in touch with some extra work). If so, I’d be happy to do this job for ya.
I am in fact just about to ‘go on the offensive’ work wise, with local firms,to see if they’re interested in ‘sub contract’ drivers…
Just a thought…I’m on the eastern edge of West Yorkshire.

i dont want to give the impression i am looking for a driver to do this job. it runs spot on every time because my regular driver has got it sorted.
he is in oz at the moment on his hols, but from some of the replies to my original post it,s good to know i wont get stuck in the future. it dos,nt

Oh I appreciate that… Just putting the thought in your head (as it were)… If you were to be in need of expanding this particular job at some point in the future. Never know do you ■■ As I said…just a thought.

beleive u me mate…ANYTHING can beat my one but i’m with u on that…it’s been round the planet twice and its falling apart!!! It drops into neutral at any random moment :unamused: and if u brake with the revs above 900rpm, the engine cuts out :open_mouth: Bit of an art to drive really  Oh, and the cab suspension is shot, the fridge packed up, passenger doorlock is knackered and the Telligent gearstick mechanism is worn so when u hit a rough bit of road…the stick disappears

all it needs is a little tlc, the engine cutting out @ 900 revs, i used to have one that did that and it was all the grime and ■■■■ that got sucked in
clogged up the air pipes for the ebs system cost me 2 new wabco valves at over £300.00 quid each :imp: :imp: :imp:
