Does your pay slip show hol pay ( written down as hol pay = ___________), or is it just written as basic / o/time ? I’m struggling with if that’s the case how there paying hol pay as average of the last x amount of weeks . Ta
from memory i think it was your basic salary so however many hours per week you were contracted per week at basic pay. I cant remember if the wage slip showed how much holiday you had accrued and how it was represented when you were paid it.
It also mattered what contract you were working on. The depo i worked at had all sorts of different things from car parts to chemicals. some got overtime some got basic rate all the way through some got paid to the minute some were nearest 15 min
Is there a distinction between holiday pay and anything else if you are salaried? When I emigrated here I had just been given the go ahead for voluntary redundancy with my contract finishing at the end of the month of September. But I already had a holiday booked for the last week of that month. When I got my final notification I was paid without that last week. I protested and they said that I had left and thus didn’t work that week. My view that that was part of my contracted final month was rejected by them but I threatened them with legal action and they saw the point and gave in. 15 years of loyal service and the cheapskate bustards tried to pull a fast one.
When I was there (ok, GXO, but they both piss in the same pot) our holiday pay was averaged over the previous 12 months. Interestingly they also included expenses in that figure. It appeared on my wage slip simply as “holiday pay” and was anywhere between £230 and £260 per day.
Thanks cooper , but I thought they had to pay hol pay at average over the last x amount of week , if there just paying it at basic rate then that to me is illegal , unless I’m wrong and holiday pay rate is just basic rate
Spardo , I’ve never in 52 years of working had a pay slip that doesn’t state holiday , hours , pay
That’s what I’d expect moaster , but it just states basic pay , overtime ( cash ) , overtime is overtime ( no idea what there on about with cash ) but I was sure holiday pay had to be a average as you said , but I’m not seeing how this is possible if it just states basic
I’m already £560 short over the last 2 weeks , I’m not a charity so don’t want to be hol pay short as well
If you’re short Ady then grip your line manager. Nothing destroys morale quicker than wage screw ups
I asked him and he said it doesn’t show hol as your hol pay is taken out of your o/t pay ( he doesn’t know what he’s on about )
I’m on my old contract which was down on pay slip as hol pay - x amount of day = £ ————
They want us to change to there contract which doesn’t explain how much your going to be paid when on hol
I don’t know why I’m that bothered as retire soon , but no one likes to loose money , I’ll ask for number of there wage dept
Thanks all
Yeah, slightly different appearance but basically the same system
Thanks moaster , at least that bits right , I’ll get hold of wage dept to explain how there paying hol pay ( though I’m old contract / not there’s so they should be paying hol like before they took over
