I’d like to congratulate the driver of that blue Rover - All the way to France for 2 cases of Special Brew and some plonk!
Top man!!!
I think you will find that is Mr Monk’s car and he has just unloaded his weekend supplies from the truck he went to France and Italy in, rather than making a special trip in the car just for two cases of Special Brew and a couple of cases of JP Chenet.

Yes, that’s the Monkmobile, and similar car boots are a familiar sight to anyone who does continental work at the end of their trip. It’s not always just pop though, even washing powder is a third cheaper so I buy that there too- it’s all just a perk of the job.

Does the viaduct in pic 5 make anyone else queasy??/
Well I’ll put my hands up and admit that my pooper goes like a cod’s mouth as soon as I see it looming up ahead… it’s fairly obvious that the barriers wouldn’t contain a truck, and it’s a long way down…
The_Catman:
(Oh, and what was the story withthe fuel guage
Well, that was as scary as the viaduct- which by the way is known as “the ski jump”

The one I love straddles Genoa . Coming from Milan it has a junction with the coastal traffic with just a give-way sign. the coastal traffic has right of way & they come from your left side .In the daytime its OK because the Italian traffic in front of you stops & looks ,so you know the score. But at night time & no traffic I forgot & kept on going ,nearly creaming some poor trucker off the viaduct ! This is all happening about a mile high in the sky…
