Hargreaves/ Stobarts

As long as a blind eye is turned to illegal incentive type bonuses which encourage (most but not all  ) tipper drivers to drive like [zb] s, then they will always…drive like [zb] s :bulb: it’s as easy as that.

Doesn’t have to be bonuses that make them drive like that, just the amount of work they are allotted to do.

Pete.

Yeh, but for as long as these ‘planners’ are made to look good, or look like they know what they are doing, by drivers who will willingly teararse about like ■■■■■■ idiots, to achieve, or even attempt to achieve the ridiculous work loads that they are set, things will never change in tipper work, or in fact any type of haulage.

I was nearly wiped out by a flying Hargreaves motor the other day, he came up the inside of me undertaking on the on ramp to M1, I was in inside lane at 56mph limiter, being overtaken at the time, so nowhere to go this nutter was on a mission and an accident waiting to happen imho. There was no way he would have made it before his slip road ran out if I had not slowed down considerably to let him out as there is no way i would risk my life or those around me, to save myself a few seconds in getting the job done, lifes too short.

I am about to start a new Bulk Tipper job in near future (not Hargreaves lol) looking forward to it a new challenge get paid daily rate so no charging about hopefully. Was interested in the Stobart Biomass post be good to find out more about it if anyone has anymore info, I was offered a job on their newly formed Stobart Biomass team, but never done walking floors before. Sounds well paid, I was told from an agency their temp to perm guys are invoicing at ÂŁ980 a week most weeks (mmmmm i wonder forever the sceptic lol).

I used to work for the green machine many years ago but saw the light hahahaha but would not rule out a return only on the Biomass Division tho, if i heard good reports about it. I see the Biomass TV stars have left mmmmmm maybe not all its made out to be. It was sold to me as top spec trucks and trailers, full time long distance tramping, with pay as mentioned, anyone back that up or is this just another somewhat hyped version of reality. Be grateful for any replies and information be good to pick your brains nsmith
[/b] if you dont mind ill send you a pm.
Thanks in advance

Stobart group walking floor pay structure has just changed. You now get a day rate plus meal allowance. On top you get a bonus per load. The bonus increases long runs etc. It is from, I think, ÂŁ9 upto ÂŁ25.
So if you do a decent load and a shunt every day you get about 150 bonus.

Fire away Blackcat.

Ferry bridge C is closing for sure, the crane is removing the boiler that caught fire last year.
The new rail head is to service the new multi fuel burner station.
