The university sleep study that has been commissioned by the FMCSA to determine the fate of the Hours of Service rules is offering to pay drivers up to $2,166 to take part in their split study.
According to a statement it made last month, the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute will need around 250 drivers to take part in their 5 month study. Drivers will be split up into two groups, one that follows the pre-2013 HOS rules, and one that follows the post-2013 rules.
