Hard shoulder abusers

With traffic getting worse and the pinch points in rush hour getting longer, I am seeing more and more car drivers trying to jump the traffic delays by speeding along the hard shoulder.

Really pees me off more than bus drivers just pulling out Grrrrr.

Don’t worry about it bud they’ll get their ■■■■■■■■■■ one day.

Way more important things to worry about than (joe public getting 4 cars further along the queue by the time you get to the incident together!) like what you’re having for dinner.

Came across an incident, a couple of weeks ago. Cars, coaches and artics on the hard shoulder and also in lane 3.
Another day at the office

Here’s a satisfying anecdote. I was once in very slow-moving traffic approaching the Darford bridge, when a Polish artic suddenly pulled onto the hard shoulder behind me and roared past in a cloud of dust, just missing my nearside mirror :open_mouth: . Powerless to do anything else, I sound my air-horn. As if by a miracle, the plain car in front of me lit up a blue flashing light on the back shelf and roared off in hot pursuit. When I came abreast of them, the Pole was out of his cab and the copper was giving him a right old bollocking. Robert

I wouldn’t let it bother you mate. Let them get on with it.
The way I work is unless the actions of some ■■■■ ain’t bothering me, it don’t concern me, I couldn’t give a ■■■■, I ain’t a traffic cop am I.
I would be concerning myself more about stuff like car drivers cutting across me from lane 3 that nearly miss their junction, and the ones that speed up when you try and o/take them.
Or the ultimate thing that makes me want to commit gbh, these so called ‘truck drivers’ that nearly take your front end off after (almost) overtaking you, because ‘‘they know exactly where the back of their trailer is’’ :unamused:
I hate those ■■■■■■ arse holes with a vengeance :smiling_imp:

There may be a very good reason for it ,I had issues with my old cortina on m1 ,hot day ,soon as you stopped in traffic it would die and be a pig too start ,pushed it onto hard shoulder ,cops arrived and eventually we got it going ,was told too use the hard shoulder and get it off the motorway which I did even though w had trucks and cars pulling in front of us thinking we were just que jumping ,from that day on not been so fast to pass judgement on folks using the hard shoulder ,yes I’ve no doubt there’s plenty que jumping ,but there may also be a good reason ,illness, racing the pregnant Mrs to hospital etc .

There must be one hell of a lot of ill or pregnant women just about to drop one out there :unamused:

I was a hard shoulder abuser (well all 500 yards of it) once in my car, came off the M25 at the A41jct heading for Hemel, just started going up the A41 and a cop car pulls alongside indicating me to stop in the next lay-by - Did as ordered and got a right bollocking from a Scottish cop, apologized profusely (grovelled) and he let me off with a caution.Lesson learnt.
Never done it since.
