Harbridge

I’ve seen a couple of this company’s smart motors on the road, does anybody know anything about them?

They seem to use a rigid/drawbar combination for hauling containers which is much more common in Europe but quite rare here (I know that Maritime have a couple of similar trucks).

The other question relates to the ‘F-Line’ logo which seems to be on all their trucks. This sounds like a shipping line, indeed the logo and the red/white colour of the trucks looks like ‘K-Line’ (Kawasaki) - very similar to the James Kemball livery (they used to have a truck liveried in K-Line colours) but I can’t find any web site that relates to ‘F-Line’ on Google.

might be a total load of gonads, but i think this fella was an o/d or small outfit working direct for k-line at one time but then had a bit of a fall out with them.

i think he has always run a wagon & drag outfit as well

rather than respray the kit they just altered it a little at the time and stuck with it ever since. I was told the F-line thing was basically giving K-line the middle finger.

K-line’s proper title should be KKK Line but for some reason they felt it might affect their business in the US

smart looking tackle they run

Yes, it’s called Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd, known as “K” Line, according to their website.

I like the explanation and I hope the story is true - perhaps it will eventually become ‘F-Off Line’!!

They don’t seem to be East Anglian which is unusual for a container operator who seems to work a lot at Felixstowe??

always thought they were east anglian for some reason ? im sure at some time i’ve spoken to their drivers and they had the old familiar twang.

i thought it was comical as well, the “F” line explanation - im sure it would of had the desired effect at the time and wound up the K-Line management no end.

it may just be another urban myth but something tells me it came from a good source, though i can’t remember where as it was a good while back.

everyone get’s the name wrong even me an i work for them !!! lol we’re based at haughley an he’s now running 7 trucks !! 4 drag’s an 3 artic’s !!! all on container’s !! the f stand’s for ford which is the old man’s nickname !!! but also a middle finger to k line an they still send him letter’s moaning bout it !!!

Theres more than just the aforementioned that run drawbars. The company I work for have 4 drawbars on the road of mixed colours and none are signwritten, in a nutshell they are the real money earners believe me :sunglasses: :open_mouth:
