just got home find a letter from highways England through my door

starting 9th of January there instailling another smart motorway on the m56 from j 6 - j 8

so m 56 be shut every night j3-j1 from 9th jan to 24th jan while they lay down sensors and cabling.
full weekend closures east bound 11th jan - 14 jan
west bound 25th jan - 28 jan

why j 3-1 I don’t know its what the letter says

then they plan to start the 50 mph narrow lanes untill god knows when.
then some website can go on for full details.

were based in trafford park i live around that area and cant wait .
god knows where the diversions will take you . as mostly housing estates not suited for an artic. but im sure theve thought it through properly

If it’s M56 J1-3 then surely the HGV diversion will be around the M60 and then Princess Parkway (using A560 if you want to go to Sharston Industrial Estate overnight).
The obvious knock on effect would be people using Northern section of M60 instead of the East/south section. Could be fun with how busy that section is normally at any time.
