Funny enough, I would have ventured it being more about aggregate earnings between you and the employer myself…
Fred Bloggs works 84 hours a week for 40 years. His company have made £2m employing him over these years, and he’s been paid a million himself over the same period.
John Smith works 40 hours a week for 20 years, has also been paid £1m in half the time of Fred, and his firm have made £3m from the work he’s done, because he doesn’t stack motors every few days, keep half a dozen drivers wasting time in the waiting room when they should be out on runs, never takes a tea or ■■■ break just the legally required 45’s, and does 40 on single carriageways.
No one has heard of John Smith though, but everyone has heard of Fred Bloggs, and personally knows his sidekick Gob Chyte as well.
Media, Fame, and Presence being what it is, History will still believe that Fred Bloggs is the better driver - 'Cos his mate said so!

Following on from the one man trolling operation that is Ross v stobart and his bleating about everything in life. Think he has decided that poa is the devils work. Day cabs and trampers are both evil. 15 hours in day and the next day you are guaranteed to kill a handful of children. Er what else, God I can’t think, but there’s sure to be more.
Then we have the topics about 40 mph and if you stray over this then you are lower than Jimmy Savile.
We also have the strap topics. “I can’t carry those two empty pallets without 20 internal straps and a couple of ratchet straps”
Of course there is the age old “its illegal to have your break while sat in a drivers waiting room”
We have people on here who are vilified for parking in a layby, and it should be law for all trampers to park in msas.
Now my point is…what is happening to wagon drivers? A lot of hand wringers on here, and out there of course. remember in the old days, yorkies weren’t for girls? Well I think some members wouldn’t risk opening the wrapper now for fear of cutting their fingers.
I feel your pain Bro’ . Infact i’ve lived it !!! You sit in a waiting room, lorry cafe or summat and you look at those around and think what a bunch of cretins. You look in here at some of the posts and you think what a bunch of moaning cretins. And then, you become like them. And it dawns upon you that indeed you are one of them, and so, true to form you post to moan about people moaning ? You couldn’t make it up eh?
Also you’ve got the art of loading down to a tee, without using to many straps, you’re good to go in a layby, you know where to have your break, you can eat a yorkie and you can unwrap it. Respect dude, there aint many of us left !!
