Whoops…
Remember seeing on one of those generic police programmes a guy took a customers Porsche home for the night while it was in for repairs and got pulled over doing 90+ on a country lane
Why would you spend all that money on an ST and take it to Halfords? Surely a Ford stamp LOOKS better?
Mind you they must be better than ■■■■■ fit, they were a nightmare for me.
Similar thing happened to an ST owner at Morcambe, mechanic filmed doing 118mph, lad got a free service and a new set of tyres off the garage.
Once saw someone unload a Mitsubishi Evo off a transporter, then he started ragging it round Lymm truckstop.
Happened at one of my local garages. Dropped my Corrado off and they added 28 miles to it. No repeat custom for them.
Wouldn’t touch Halfords or kwik fit for anything, cowboys with big names! When I was young and naive I sent my car to kwik fit for a service and MoT. The guy phoned a hour later saying he couldn’t get the bonnet open
So I get there thinking maybe the catch is broken, walk straight over to it and open it in front of the fella. Bloody waste eh time that was when they can’t even open a bonnet!

He must’ve asked the others that worked there too??
My arrangement is totally unrelated to dodgy dealings. I drive legally and wouldn’t think of fraudulently passing the test.
D-ya not?:

Looks like they were all too stupid to work it out, bunch of muppets:lol:
Yes he was well over the speed limit. But I have to say if it was my car I don’t think I’d be that bothered and if the same driving had been repeated on a NSL none of us would have batted an eyelid.
He wasn’t anywhere near bouncing it off the limiter and wasn’t jumping on the brakes at the last minute either.
What a bloody drama queen. If this ■■■■■■ had picked his car up and it wouldn’t pull / accelerate properly, he’d have been straight back complaining that that they hadn’t fixed / tested it properly. Just goes to show that if you whinge, wine and carry on, you get a prize to shut you up. My present car, a bog standard Mitsubishi 3.5 petrol would have left that for dead… 57mph
Yeah It must be a slow day at the press. He give it the boot through second and third, hardly abuseing it, it’s a performance car ffs! That clown should go and buy himself a daewoo.
Do you know what’s worrying reading trucknet members comments? They seem more concerned about this fella complaining than they do with the guy doing 57mph in a 30mph zone. Past houses, schools, park cars etc ack they don’t have problem wae that, they have problem with the owner of the car complaing Pmsl
Me nephew does all my cars well he works for vauxhall and I have an Astra so it make sense

theres two turnings on that road, one into a car park and one into a car dealers. no schools, houses etc just a wide straight road that probably has seen people do that day in day out.

So what you’re telling me is its acceptable to do twice the speed limit if in your opinion you think it’s safe?
no just there’s worse places he could of done it, and it seams a lot of drama over not a lot.
Yep, we all know he was doing 57 in a 30 zone for about two seconds. The road was near deserted and he wasn’t weaving in and out of traffic, or making pedestrians jump for their lives. As I said before, if he got in his car and floored it (in exceptionally safe circumstances of course) and it didn’t perform properly, he’d have been complaining and wanting his free service, which he got anyway.
Speeding in a 30 zone is shocking.
Heard this on the JV show yesterday on radio 2 which seemed to attract a variety of mechanics wives from the 70’s who husbands youst to take a motor for good thrashi… eh test drive to ‘decoke’ em.
Ive done faster speeds in me youth though also a police chase losing the rozzers over a preplanned section of field, also took a police car for a joyride… basically what im saying is we all do bad things but to buy a sporty motor to attract attention then involve the media is a bit OTT.
Curse of the dashcam again.
The moral of the story is, if you cant afford proper dealer maintenance and have to use a bike shop for servicing then don’t buy a flash motor in the first place.
Not as fast as my stage 2 tuned Golf GTI though which is serviced by me mate who I know thrashes the chuff out of it afterwards, no dashcam needed as yheres never any fuel left in it when it comes back.
