half a diary

day 1 and im up early and down in pompey , booked on the morning boat to caen , full of loads of tourists and a fair few coaches im happy to be in pole position getting off with a bit of luck i can beat most of them out . 3 and a half hours later im heading rounds nantes and over the bridge onto the niort road and parking at the peage .
day 2 i do a ful drive ending up at aire la palme on the a9 , crap weather all the way .
day 3 and its into spain stopping in la jonquera for the essentials , rain following me i head south down to barcelona , holiday season has allready started getting held up at peages still heading south the weather turns and by the time i hit casstellon its in 90"s , ifinish the day about an hour north of alicante
day four i reach a village near alicante called verdegas in an hour and load a vectra from a villa after a phone call im told to park up so im finished by lunch time in elche services .
day 5 mid morning the phone rings , head to malaga , so its down to murcia , then granada and malaga where after another call im loading estepona monday so into the services on the ap7 there for the weekend .
day 8 after a bit of messing around i load a stolen recovered mitsubishi from manilva no keys but dragged pretty straight , now its back to alicante , stopping outside malaga for fuel i fall of the trailer as im checking the pick up , not good , i get back to elche services in a lot of pain with a funny looking ankle , the agent we work with met me and took me to casualty where nothing broken but no driving , getting back to the truck at 3am
day 9 after speaking with the boss its decided to fly me home and fly another driver out , i get back wed lunchtime and go to casualty again where i have a hairline fracture and ligament damage so for the next few weeks or so its a cse of R&R and work on getting the ankle sorted

Excellent as ever. I was in Castellion myself about a month ago. We still do a fair bit of Spain, but like you, we do specialist work. Bit of a shame that you hardly see any Brits on it any more. Hope your ankle mends soon, want to see more diaries!
