why isnt there a map of Milton Keynes in any road atlas that shows the H&V
road numbers
Thats a very good question Hitch!!
Just for reference:
V roads run West to East from V1 at Buckingham Road A421 Tattenhoe to V11 A4146 runs from just off J14 past VOSA to towards Kingston and
H roads run North to SouthH1 Wolverton to H10 Denbigh A4146
The map copy i have is from GEOprojects of Reading.
Hope this is of use.
Years ago I had a map of MK with the V and H numbers on, sure of it, but that was probably around 1989 Surprised that there isn’t one available anymore.
I don’t think I have it anymore though, but, maybe I have.
i’ve got a map with them on, they only indicate vertical and horizontal.
shouldn’t be needed these days as all the roads are named now.

And there’s me thinking that “V” stands for Vertical, meaning that they run South to North and,
“H” stands to for Horizontal. Meaning that they run from West to East.
Krankee,i thought that what V and H did stand for.I’ve only just realised.DOH!!
Use lower search immediately above map, search with V & H numbers or street names. then choose from drop down box…
if you wanted to go from Wolverton to Wilton
it would be easier going H this to V summat
rather than A**** to B*** then ****
who knows a bit like using E 40 it takes you straight there via
a number of countries and loads of national road changes
