I delivered 2 mobile conveyors in to a large East London site yesterday ,full ppe required ,cpcs card ect ,didn’t show my Fors number though ,whilst there 2 Czech lorries arrive loaded with 20kg bags of steel needles on pallets from Belgium and the drivers had no ppe at all ,wearing shorts and sandals they walked up & down the side of the lorry whilst being unloaded ,not really safe or even fare this ,they should of been made to sit in the cab during unloading ,and the Belgian senders or whoever arranged this delivery should be told no ppe ect and jumping through hoops then the loads get sent back .
so basically you’re just jealous they didn’t have to go with the bs
name and shame the site…
they would soon be screaming if you did the same then said ok no prob and ■■’d off
the whole point “mildon” what’s good for one should stand for all but because an non uk driver turns up a blind eye is turned pleading ignorance

Fully agree nick, the only country fully enforcing this h&S bullcrap is the uk.
regards dave.
Come on dan! well 'ARD foreigners
why do you wear full ppe?
lorry driver or bob the builder?
hiding behind the health and safety act 1974 is just BS!
we’ve let this BS happen to us for too long, who cares?
Don’t you know it’s not allowed to criticise Europeans coming here at all?
We lost the war…
I always wear my hard hat it’s too easy to stand up under the greasy crane arm or hook and it’s not very nice having your head scrubbed and stitched ,same with the boots I don’t feel right with out them and gloves ,I don’t care much for vests ,iam not jealous but more annoyed that this can happen when it suits ,I’d be jealous if you were with patsy kensit or drove a ■■■■■■■ Erf .i didn’t do H&S but I see the error of my ways like cutting asbestos sheets with a grinder ,now I wouldn’t do that again !
i do deliveried in london of steel and all sorts and have to wear full ppe and and orange when on crossrail but when im sat there and foriengers come on site with no ppe and start to walk over and take stuff off so they can be tipped.i go ask foreman say wheres his ppe why should i wear it if he does not.they they how can i get him to understand he say no speak english.ok i say where site manger get him down and stop unloading till he wearing it.or ill go walk about all over site with no ppe till something is done about it.soon tell the driver top stop and put his gear on or tell him no ppe no tip soon sorts it out.
I tip at plenty of places where I’m required to sit in the hospitality suite/ waiting room where I also see plenty of drivers still sat in their motors whilst being tipped / loaded and do you know what I do about it? Diddly squat actually 'cos it’s none of my business and I don’t really care tbh.
You would if you were paying out / days lost for training and joining schemes ect like I’ve have done .

I may or may not ,but what’s your odds ,Fernwoods or will the cancer sticks get you first ?
Contrary to my avatar, I’ve been off the cancer sticks for quite some time shag, and even Fernwoods aren’t quick enough to catch me.
Enjoy your asbestosis.

With the greatest of respect Dan I wouldn’t. I’ve done the employer bit, paid for this, put out for that, seen people undercutting and cutting corners and it’s still not overly bothered me. I firmly believe in what goes around comes around.
Check out the black country not a fluorescent sausage in sight! Bliss.
I once saw a Romanian driver walking on top of a chemical tanker while he was wearing cut off jeans,a wife beater vest and flip flops.
Well it was a hot day.
Houses abroad when being built have wooden sticks and poles as scaffolding.
We had to wear hard hats when loading ten ton slabs of steel, fat lot of good that would do if one of them fell on yer 'ead
There’s a paper mill in Ellesmere Port where you have to wear safety glasses whilst they’re loading 8ft tall 2.5 tonne reels of paper like you’d get one of those in your eye…
I delivered to a site in Northwood today and was told I couldn’t come in as I was wearing work shorts. It was a tiny block of apartments they were building, not the Emirates Stadium, ffs.
So I told the site manager I would happily leave my goods at the entrance to the site if he could provide a genuine health and safety reason why I couldn’t wear shorts. Surprisingly he couldn’t, so I politely asked him to give me a bye for 5 minutes while I put my 3 pallets of turf in a useful place for MY customer, which the site manager was not.
He agreed that as there were no forks on site, that I would have be allowed in with the goods.
I can see an argument for no rigger boots on certain sites, or goggles if you are somewhere in danger of having an eye out. But trousers are not going to stop your legs getting cut off are they?
I can see a day coming where they just give up, and say sorry, you are not allowed in unless you are wearing a HiViz full body condom with a hard hat for good measure…
