Gypsies in Crick

As you come off the motorway and head for crick village (not rugby where stobarts are) you turn right at the first roundabout and stright over the second one and you are on the industrial estate
Take you first right takes you in to a coalde sack with units on the right and a turning circle at the bottom
The units have not been let out for 18 months now and Its a nice quite place to park with a lot of regulars
The units have yellow posts in the ground to stop people getting into the unit area
But a group of pikes turned up about 6 families all with mk6 transits and caravans; they removed the yellow posts to get in there and have parked right out side the units
The estate is privately owned and basicaly what they have done is broken into the yard and are now tress-passing
no one parks in front of the yellow posts no one! but they have gone right through them
As I said its a private estate and if anyone parks a caravan there it is removed and taken to a compound sharp and yes this has happened before where melado parks his caravan up goes to work round the corner only to come back from work and his caravan has gone
Someone wearing a suit and tie came round today taking photos of the area that they had parked in so I guess one of the estate owner

All I can say is AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Do you think the police will move them on or the council and how long do you think it will take

Yep, saw them there earlier. We park there regular. Its been getting bad for fuel theft around that area lately.

I lived in Crick and yes, they come and go.

its the drivers mate pinching off his driving mate so no one knows about it only the people that see it

the owners are keen to get rid of that sort of thing
lets just hope the council can move them on by monday

18 months? Are we talking about the grass verge to the left of the roundabout in this pic?

These pics are invariably more than 18 months out of date, so if there’s a load of new units with yellow posts there now, then fair enough.

I have not been there for about a year, but used to park up in that small pull-in above the E of Eldon Close in the pic for a trailer swap. The departing artic in the pic is probably a sainsbury, since they have a depot off the left of this pic. Gist wagons would be swapping trailers in the Eldon Close as well.

It always makes me laugh when that Stobarts series describe the DIRFT estate as “Crick” when as far as I’m concerned THIS is Crick industrial estate right?

Crick is where Scania, Arcese, NFT - Sainsburys is and Daventry is where Royal Mail, Stobart, Tesco etc is the other side.

Montgomery’s used to be in there too. Dump!

Still are there.

We have between 3 and 6 trucks parked in the immediate area every night, if diesel gets nicked its usually from the laybys on the A5 where it meets DIRFT.

Well before Montgomery’s It was Duke’s depot and was built for them in the early 80’s. They moved from being on the A5 right a the back of Watford Gap N/B to No1 Eldon Close. Spent many a pleasant night in that poxy place

Regards
Dave Penn;

What happens when you confront someone you’re catching in the act stealing your fuel?

I’m expecting the answer “The police say you must let them get on with it, as it’s against their human rights to use reasonable force to prevent the theft” but I’d like to be proven wrong here in my cynicism!

thats the one

sorry dont know how to resize BBC codes

That’s where the Poles used to park their caravans and live, after working at Tesco.

just been told they have gone now
