Do try and keep up with current affairs Fergie,Burma no longer exists,it’s renamed Myanmar,those Gardners you are referring to could power a Spitfire,never mind the Merlins,could be a bit choking on a cold morning start up though,especially where the exhaust stubs project either side of the nose!!!

That would have worked great if the idea was to tow them to the target with a Lancaster and then use the things as unmanned drones to drop on the enemy.The power of the Gardner running at max rpm probably would have added around another 40 mph to the impact speed.

Don’t care Davy boy… it was Burma on my World Atlas as a nipper, so Burma it is, just cause some wise oriental gentleman wants to call it summit else…sod 'em…funny though, did have a post card from Den saying he couldn’t find it…whether that was the engines, Spitfires, or the country, dunno, he didn’t elaborate…Do they kidnap white people out there ? I wonder if they’ll hold him for ransom, better let C.F organise a whip round for his release…what do you reckon he’s worth …
