Greetings y’all.
Anybody got any info on this company, type of work, runs etc: ?
Been offered some agency work with them, from their depot near Hatfield.
Cheers.
Bulk aggregate bags to builders merchants, London and surrounding area. Last I heard it was three loads a day, mix of curtainside and flat trailers. Day work, no nights out.
If you get lost Theyre at the back of cemex yard, also in lafarge yard on A414 by petrol garage but think that’s classed as St Albans…
Cheers Twoninety88 and Buster4086
Expect to be on first name terms with VOSA. But they are getting better.
They deliver into our yard and they seem to have splashed out on new kit , not seen any of their old rubbish lately , and the ones I’ve spoken to seem to be happy .
all there old rubbish is sent north to lockington and husbands Bosworth as they don’t venture into London, but good to work for
Have you noticed how their trailers have suddenly grown a trapeze wire running the length of them? I thought they were for drivers to “clip on to” for working at heights
But even more recently they seem to have some cargo nets suspended by rings from these wires.
They still don’t chuck many straps over them though. The record we have seen is a single strap over the rear to bags only on a 34 bag trailer. That was about 2 years ago… Guess the tugs were getting stronger!
The wire is so they can pull the net back and forth without getting on the trailor, also theres an agreement with vosa there needs to be min 7 straps on the bulk bags and a strap for every pallet.
Yeah that net contraption looks a lot better. Out of interest, they obviously had to take each trailer off the road to put those trapezes on them, why didn’t they tidy each trailer up a bit at the same time? All their kit looks gash.
I used to go into St Albans for my old employer all the time and used to marvel that my wagon which hadn’t seen so much as a hose on the outside of it, still looked better than all those bashed up monsters.
So reading this thread looks like they used to get pulled by VOSA and have since " cleaned up their act " and don’t get pulled as much.Is that about right ?
I’ve got a chance of some 4 on 4 off work, but if that doesn’t work out,I’ll give this GRS job a go.
Cheers all.
Seen them in the local nest a few times.
